It really needs to be in all our lives :)

*Probably* more immersive than a 4k monitor due the wide screen peripheral vision and much easier to drive, approx 30% harder than a standard 2560x1440p, yes this will still require some serious horsepower but nowhere near as much as 4k which is just not really even feasible with current hardware beyond tri and quad gpu setups.

This display is the part of the build that I am looking forward to the most. (It's the hardest to get, naturally:confused:)

This is my first AMD system, it has been reliable and runs fine but I just prefer Intel. I do plan on building a new system in the near future with the I7 4970K, ASUS z97-Pro, and 16GB Kingston 1600 ram, second Samsung EVO Pro in raid 0, OS SSD Samsung m.2 NGFF XP941 256GB (if I can find one). I will end up buying a GTX780 TI or it's newest equivalent later this year. A big maybe is the the Acer XB280HK monitor whenever it becomes available.

That's an awesome display (Acer XB280HK), but 1 780ti, is not going to cut it, you will need 2 to play games with medium settings and 3+ GPU's to play at high settings in most games (depending on the game obviously) source.

However 1 x 780ti crushes 2560x1440 on most games in high quality...

The only drawback with the Acer display is that it is rumoured to be a TN panel...

Id like to. Want to SLI and add a third monitor at that time. Financially though ive had a lot of stuff hit starting like 5 minutes after I purchased the stuff (Murphy's law) and as a result I dont forsee a point in time where I can really afford it.

The other reason though is when looking for a PS this one was priced and rated comparably to some of the 800's I was looking at. Few bucks more but not a lot. It was a sale special I bumped into.

You are right! 4K is almost 4 times the resolutions of 1080. I feel like a dumb-ass for over looking that fact. Hmm, maybe I will have to settle for a lower resolution monitor or just use the Acer display at 2560x1440 and work my way up to 4k over time. I don't have any issues with the Acer being a TN panel, I don't need super accurate color reproduction.

I want to eventually be 4K on all mine, but not happening soon.

For those interested. There is one 4K Tv on the market 39" that is like 380.00. Its the only TV really that is smaller then 55".

It runs poorly as a monitor from the factory. However as I understand it, there are a lot of forums in which people have posted how to mod the TV's firmware and it becomes awesome.. If your that industrious. This is what ive heard word of mouth so plz do research before buying :)

A macbook pro retina with a Geforce 750m, 2GB GDDR5, or an Iris Pro with 1 GB DDR3 and 128 MB edram cache.

Both are within 15 percent of each other framerate wise with the Geforce edging out the Iris on most games.

Unfortunately I've had some issues with my SoTA client. Will probably reinstall completely when the 64 bit R7 comes out next week.

Yes, it is pretty new. I bought it a month or two ago. My previous macbook actually ran SoTA better tho. Doh. Drivers in OS X I assume.

Still I can play stuff like Bioshock on it now tho... whereas I couldn't with an Intel HD Graphics 4000 :)

    Thank You.

4K still needs another 2+ generations of gpu development before it's feasible for gaming, most people don't want to run 1000W + multi gpu computers.

Looks like I may have a few more display options soon...

    Dell U3415w
    AOC u3477Pqu
    in addition to LG's 34UM95

This is good news, should "hopefully" drive the prices down a little, the Dell and the AOC have height adjustable stands also.

If it were me, I'd go with the Alienware. It's all Intel/nVidia both are my favorites over AMD/ATI any day of the week... That system looks good, but I couldn't find the spec's for the motherboard to see if it supported duel channel memory (it should most Intel systems do, very important to have, IMO), plus for future expansions wo/ new mb.
