To zone to your own house...

I can still see a need for a delay timer to zone again, but no wined up to go to your main house... I know some players will have multiple houses, but the 1st trip should have no delays, please... Maybe we should have to set a default house as our main house...

I just think it's pointless, I'm a crafter, I'm in SPO, why do I need to wait just to port home? There should be a delay if I want to go to another place, but I'm usually just overweight and dropping off resources before logging off...

Zone is going to go away entirely. This is just a temporary measure before it's taken away fully. Zone was always an admin command and never intended to be a player command. If anything like zone does make it into the final game, it will be in the form of expensive travel magic.

Oh, I hope not, we do not need recall or gate, the Lunar Rifts should be strategically placed throughout Novia... And with clickable ships, that should be enough (I still would like to come straight to my house somehow)...

Can you point me to a post somewhere - where it was stated that "travel magic" would be "expensive" ?

"Modest value" does not "expensive" make....

They have said in multiple videos, multiple posts, many times over the past year that if travel magic did exist it would have a cost associated with it, and it would likely be expensive. I tend to look to the expensive part to prepare myself and not be "shocked" when the reality of the thing sets in. Same reason I dont use zone much, because I do not wish to get used to something that's simply going to come out later.

I believe this is just temporary as well. Note that the $1.6M Kickstarter stretch goal for ships was:
I take this to mean that eventually ships will have their own "scene" where events can happen, there will be travel time involved, and there will be random encounters. Instantly clicking to travel from the Vale to Ardoris wont' be there forever.

    We should all be "wined".

    And dined?

I wonder if we'll need to find a bed to rest in to safely log out.

Someone just playing single player might not want the immersion of travel time. A player online (single or multiplayer) will need to have the same zone/travel cool down and reagent cost.

I'm happy to see zoning going away completely. No more shortcuts to houses, will mean having to play the game, to try to get back home safely with your loot. It won't be easy, and it shouldn't be easy, whether playing multiplayer or single player, the risk is still there, be it random encounters by monsters or other players, your stuff won't be safe until you make it home safe. And that's part of playing the game, and how it should always be!

The cost mentioned for recall doesn't necessarily just mean gold, time also has value.

Oh the memories! Wouldn't it be great to just insert this clip (and others like it from Ultima IV) whenever you boarded a ship in SotA? Players new to Ultima would think WTF!!!??? It would be worth it just to see them complain that it looks like a game from the 80's. Ultima veterans would love it and the stretch goal would be met :p
