Margard, or a swallow without description, which can't be determined to be African or European.

Shrubberies --- they would add variety to the landscape ... very sensible suggestion indeed!

I think that's more than a bit assumptive, and frankly, downright insulting.

What I see are people who are asking for simple answers to simple questions, that are not being addressed. Are simple answers so hard to provide? How many weeks ago now, was a Q & A in regards to the Overland Map topic was suggested and asked for, and we've heard zilch but crickets on that front.

It's not the direction of the map that's really bothering me. It's the avoidance of the topic that bothers me. It's like the huge pink elephant in the room that the dev team seems content to totally ignore rather than tackle head on. I'm sure they are working very hard on the map, along with everything else. And I really can't fathom why this is such a verboten topic to get some straight answers on.

You radically changed the map from the one we pledged on. We'd like to know why. It's really that simple. Real, actual, practical, soup to nuts reasons. Not some generalised ten second comment off the cuff statement. Dragon up and take a live Q & A session for goodness sake. I triple dog dare ya! ;)

What I hear touted again, and again, and again, by many people, and the dev team themselves is to remember this is an pre-alpha, etc, and what we see is not necessarily the end product or the final direction. Yes, we are now all extremely aware of this. However, it's very hard to see what the end vision of something may be, when that vision isn't shared with us. Tell us what direction you see the map going, and how you envision it to be. Then we'll be able to get on board with the idea, or simply agree that we don't like it and everyone can make their own decisions from there.

What is not healthy, however, is to continually ignore it and then act like all the questions have been answered and that anyone who has further questions are trying to block the devs or 'foment dissent'.

Such comments are nothing short of the pinnacle of rude, and are highly unproductive.

At this point, I'm honestly so tired of this topic that I'm starting to not even care how the map ends up. I just want an end in sight so I can either love it, hate it, or be indifferent to it. The only thing in the world worst than Soon (tm) is Pending (tm).

What is really important is how a PvP duel is established. A distinguished gentleman of New Britannia will always engage a duel by means of the Fish Slapping Dance!

    @belrindor -

There have been an insane amount of posts over this topic - folks have the right the get answers address - maybe its not you

I'm not reading your post because I'm sure I'll end up agreeing with most of it anyways :)

I stalk the forums - don't take my word for it - look at 10-15 threads many started by a few group members ... its trying to start a snowball type effect ...

Let me see if I comprehend this correctly.

People create a thread to talk about things of interest to them, and then they are accused of 'fomenting dissent' and 'blocking' and impeding progress.

Then in response, people of an opposite opinion start to post garbage babble on that thread, instead of simply ignoring the thread if they don't like it.

Why must such things always devolve to infantile behavior?

If you don't like a topic, then don't read it, and don't post in it. But please don't post drivel in a childish attempt to derail the topic. You can behave better than that.

With that said, can we please keep the thread ON TOPIC, and focused on the "map".
