Does anyone know if devs have said anything in telethon about how boats will work. Are the boats we now have water lots be able to take off and go fishing or traveling? I guess its to soon or are we certain there will be no boat travel in SOTA?

I believe they said that boat travel would not be in episode one.

There used to be stretch goals and one goal was to have boats be able to leave their lots and travel the open water. The goal, unfortunately, wasn't reached.. but I believe the devs said they're still hopeful to have that happen in a future episode.

It would be good to know if the pirate galleons will be able to leave their lots and battle or just be a nice decorative house with a pirate theme. The thought of putting out $1575.00 for a POT City Water Lot is on the line. Already got the Pirate Galleon and saving for the water lot. Dont know if the Devs read these posts at all but here it goes. @Berek, @DarkStarr, Give us a definitive answer as to whether any of the ships we have especially the Pirate Galleon will be mobile in the future or just a unique house deco. Not for Episode 1 but we hope to do this for Episode 2.

@DarkStarr. Thank you for the prompt reply. The question still remains for episode 2, Will the Pirate Galleons be able to actually sail and battle or will there be other ships instead for that purpose? Your reply will be most appreciated not only for me but also for other *cough* aspiring pirates. R/Boris/El Pirata

The plan is all existing boats will sail.

It will be interesting to hear early design thoughts on this. Does 'ships will sail" mean we might see a larger non-instances over world map to sail on as a little ship on screen? Or will ships only sail in their own instanced scenes? Will a ship in one scene be able to teleport to another scene's dock? How will this work if lot deeds are required for ships? Will a ship be able to leave its lot deed behind or might the deed sail along with it? All of this will be important for buyers / backers as purchasing ships plus lots to sustain ships is not an inexpensive matter. Cheers!
