The Greymark seems to be 5 skull area right now and Im to weak to do it but Im to strong to continue at west ravenswood. Any other recommended areas?

Yeah that area got an update and is now considerably more difficult. If you take that boat at kingsport over to novia, see how you go in one of the Savrenoc scenes.

Hi Themo, I'm having a hard time trying to figure out where I should be (probably a common problem). I'm melee with blades at 70 and 23 other skills at 40-50. I just sat in West Ravenswood for a long time and it's getting quite boring, but I find it provides more than most 3-skull areas at the moment. I found that the large desert wolves are great for XP, but all wolves seems to be broken as they just run in fear when I approach them. Should I just move to a 4-skull zone? If so what would your recommendation be for R34?

    Thanks!

Animals will often run from you, it is not a bug. If you like the desert wolves, then maybe Eastreach Gap would suit you. It is a control point so stay out of the middle, but it has the wolves and some corpions of similar level. It also has good level harvest nodes for cotton and ore.

Just a thought for you, even tho you are melee, you should work on spell arrow skills, such a Fire Arrow for example. You can cast it and they will either run to you or run around a few seconds then run to you. All the arrow spells work like this and you don't have to worry about them always running away from you,as you will get agro on them. These spells are also great for you fighting and wanting to pull another wolf who might be within the arrow spell range.
But yes, the wolves will generally run from everyone, they are not broken, they are just showing they are scared, which wolves generally would be because they are pack hunters. :)

Thank you both. I recall in earlier releases that wolves attacked on sight, didn't know that was changed.

Thanks Frederick, I was thinking of getting a bow or something just for pulls. I have taunt but the range isn't that great and noticed they still ran anyway. I RP my character as a soldier so I may try pulling with a bow and swapping. If this doesn't work out I'll definitely keep the fire arrow in mind. Thanks!

@Themo Lock @Vedrix my I add to this... I'm at about the same level skill as you with polearm, the wolves run because you are in combat and ready, but if you start to harvest and turn your back to them they seem to realize "it's time to attack" an unaware target... As soon as your level in skill out weights their's, they run more... Plus if it's boring for you, then it's time to move on to another higher skull area, there're several try them all...

I also noticed that 3 skull areas in Novia give higher exp than in Hidden Vale and if your leveling 25 skills, you should check your pool, if it's hitting zero, you should turn off all your 2 tier and above skills and work on 1 tier until it's where you want it, then turn them on one by one...

Do the Oracle test for 500 exp & gold...

Thanks! Though I have 24 skills on the go I'm only training 1-3 at once. Usually fewer if passives or more with actives. I try and find an area that allows me to do this and keep my pool at the same level (gains = losses).

I guess now I need to figure out the "sweet spot" for skull areas. Like how far to train each skill. I just realized that training blades by itself at 70 in a 3-skull doesn't balance out. I'm wondering if there's a general guideline, like 1-skull to 20, 2-skull to 40, 3-skull to 60, etc.

I tried advancing some skills before the others but found better balance bringing them all to the same level before moving on. So right now I'm working getting everything to 60. It's slow but it'll get there.

I love training in Serpents Spine - bandit camps and Twins Foothills - thug camps. The loot is great and the XP gains are good for a mid level character.

    the various ravenswoods scale up:

    west is two-skull
    north is three-skull
    south is four-skull
    deep is five-skull
