This isn't a bug, but rather a crafty suggestion disguised as a bug, because really, this should be 'a thing', and I'm not sure that it is working as hopefully intended.

What about if you are using make it rain emote or water magic? That should also water the plants.

Also, players should be able to draw water from the wishing well/tubs if they have a non-consumable bucket.

And leaving buckets out in the rain should fill them up with water.

Numerous ways could exist to fill buckets with water.
    - Leave them in the open rain.
    - Go to a well.
    - Go to a fountain.
    - Go to a body of water (though depends on the type of water; sea water, fresh water, brackish water).
    - Use rain magic.
    - Fill it with snow or ice, then go somewhere hot.

I wouldn't want buckets to fill from rain unless there were also evaporation mechanics.

    Oh yes, hot tubs.

Btw, I'd also hope that you can fill larger containers with water, like barrels, for storage, from which you could then take out individual buckets.

Unfortunately, I think the devs said that they aren't going to do partially filled containers, so that would be impossible to simulate, I guess :/ Though I don't understand why it wouldn't be infinite water, I guess, since hot tubs and fountains from the add-on store have infinite water supplies.

Oooh, forgot about fountains... Now I want fountains to start empty so you can choose what liquid flows through them. Water for the mundane days... Wine or Beer for the parties... buckets of dragon blood for the truly hardcore players.

Our wells should be a viable source of ground water . If not, we are going to have a mosquito problem you would not believe. Anyone selling bats?

i would love bats, and a bat-house. they're gonna have to enable tech for something like that anyway, to make the edelmann birdbath work.

    @Alley Oop,

Hopefully caves in the game will have bats in the future. They were a standard feature of the ultima games. The devs need to make them so they hang upside down when they're not active, though!

    Also, we need rats!

I do agree that water for planting should be able to be gathered from fresh Rivers and Streams but being a RL gardener, 1 bucket would not fill in a single rainfall just left outside trust me i live in the west country of the UK and we get alot of rain but i still need to water my plants during the summer months and in the winter, the only viable option would be to have a water butt or rain farm which is gathered from the rain falling onto your property roof even then it would probably take a while to fill a bucket depending on the size of the roof how well its being channelled etc.

1 inch of water will travel approx 9 inch's below ground in a very good loam soil type so the plants can only grab a small amount of water as it passes the roots. depending on soil type

I'd really like to see the introduction of many more aspects of horticulture.. over the 5 episodes and interested to see how this develops.
