Which enemies (where) are dropping Crowns of the Obsidians?

any experience, which enemies are actually dropping Crowns of the Obsidians?

Before R 51 I received them from Hardened Skeletons. Received not even one since R51 ...

I think it is random and you can get them from anything. I have gotten them from mining nodes.

Recently I received from sieges, iron crown and silver crown. NO gold crowns. I perfer the gold crowns over the other ones.

 

Very much random and luck of the draw. I got one within a couple months of persistence, and then nothing since.

 

Another good source is to listen to the telethons and be ondiscord and hope for a prizening.

 

I have never received a crown as loot, fake news!

 

I can't confirm this - until R51! From there ... well, let the fake coto roll ...
Well, imagine: FAKED cotos, faked gold! --> And our NPC's call the guards to imprison us! THAT would be an interesting kind of quest - who made the faked money?

 

anything. i got one off a frostgeist once.

 

its just a random drop, not really anything specific drops them, but bosses do seem to have a higher drop rate.

 

it's not fake news... they do drop but rarely... and gold cotos are super extremely rare...

this was on 2/17/2018 and it dropped from a ghost...


this was on 2/13/2018 and it dropped from a Hardened Skeleton Footman


this was on 1/31/2018 and it dropped from a Large Timber Wolf


this was on 1/30/2018 and it dropped from a Gold Vein


this was also on 1/30/2018 and it dropped from a Silver Vein


this was on 1/29/2018 and it dropped from a Gold Vein


Unfortunately... NO Gold COTOs...

 

Wow, you actually take a screenshot of each. I guess they're so rare that it makes sense.

I've never found a gold COTO either.

 

They always said they would be "rare"....
Just how "rare" they've avoided mentioning......

However, they are not "rare" at all in the Store !

Oh, and if you want to repair an artifact that you carry, you can melt another artifact or you can shop for a gold cota....

Is any of this a surprise to anyone here ?

This (Gold Cota's) is the main ingredient in paychecks for Port.... I understand completely.....I just wish they'd been more straightforward in this regard.

 

I received a Gold COTO drop last night. Three COTOs this release so far and around 7 last release.

 

Never seen a COTO drop. Ever.

 

According to Chris anything could drop but the tier is logarithmic to the % rate. (Or something along those lines)
So the bigger and badder they are the more likely it is.

Which also seems true for nodes.

 

it's like seeing a magical unicorn... must take a picture when it appears...

 

Any useful information about which enemies dropped?

 

In R50 I got a Silver one but I'm not sure where - I didn't discover it in my inventory until I returned home. But I wasn't hunting in high-level areas.
In R51 I got a Bronze one from a Patriarch Bear in Greymark Forest.

 

I generally farm in three Rise.
