Reproduction Rate: Depends on the Spawn, but not Every wolf or bear
    Blocker? No
Details: In both Solace Bridge and Whitegard Hills, certain animals behave like Does, As you approach and initiate combat, they run for the scene edge, just like the Deer. They reach an edge and turn and run the other direction.
Steps to Reproduce: Fight a wolf in Whitegard hills, first one by the scene entrance did it consistently for me (3 spawns in a row), but his buddy across the road is a normal wolf and does not run.

This also happens with Obsidian Wolves in Crag Foothills. Not every time, but more often than not.

We changed the aggression on animals in an effort to make them more nice and cuddly. (Just kidding!) They now have a lower chance of attacking you. Bears have a 75% chance of attacking, while wolves have a 25% chance. If it looks like they're attacking much less than that, let me know and I'll submit this as a bug.

It is a bug when a Patriarch Bear runs away as far as he can, and then just stands there passively and lets you slowly hack him to bits. And most of the wolves I've encountered might as well be rabbits. This is no fun at all.

What we did was try to make the animals act a little more realistically. Bears might flee at first, but after you get in a few consistent hits, they should turn around and attack you. Wolves are going to flee more often, but if you pursue them and land enough hits, they'll come after you. This is supposed to mimic nature more closely. Remember: Wild animals are more afraid of you than you're afraid of them!

I understand that it is intentional. I just believe this is inappropriate in the context of a fantasy game, and that it will hurt the game. I could be wrong, maybe people will love the fleeing monsters. As always, my comments are only intended as constructive criticism.

This change makes it much easier to kill the animals as a ranged fighter, because you never get interrupted, and probably a lot harder for melee types since they have to give chase. I do notice a lot, especially in Deep Ravenswood, that the wolves are running so far into the scene border trees that you cannot target them to attack, which is problematic. I'd like to see lower level wolves and bears flee more often than the higher level ones. Seeing Obsidian Wolves turn tail and run like puppies just feels wrong to me. I am not seeing many of the wolves ever turn and attack, so maybe this needs some adjusting?

I now walk up to a wolf, smack it a few times, and it dies without even turning to face. Albeit I do a lot of damage in those few swings but still...

I liked the previous version where they'd at least get a hit or two in instead of running away to stare at a mountain or tree or until they leash back.

I feel that this change to animal behavior is also leaving some very high level resources (in the case of Deep Ravenswood) virtually unguarded. Just now I was able to run around and harvest unchallenged in many cases. I harvested all the wood, copper and cotton from the 2 wolf areas and the bear area and only fought 6 wolves and 3 bears. Four of those wolves attacked over a single cotton bush.

Well, realistically Wolves do not usually guard copper and iron ;).

Thanks for this change. I really like it. As a ranged player, its nice to have some targets that move off at range. As a melee player, its nice to have diversity and not be able to predict creature behavior every time.

Ah, yea, sure they are. Next time I will walk the wood with you and you can see first hand how much wild animals "like" me and won't leave me along. no matter how many hits I did not do to them. ;)

Obsidian animals are cursed animals and should not behave like normal animals. I like the changed but resource guarding should be done by something else then..

So in high level areas,( 4-5 ) there should be more Obsidian animals that do not flee the scene and guard resources alone with other foes.

So in Deep Ravenswood, the wolves have been running through the tree line (off the map). I also know two cases where they've just vanished.

I'm definitely not liking this change... wolves aren't more likely to run 10 meters and stare at a cliff 'til death than they would be to attack me. The only thing more likely now is me getting bored...

This is pretty weird having an obsidian wolf run like a scared kitten, then turn and kill me... Bears should always stand their ground and protect their space...

Yeah, this can't be intended by the Devs can it? The game is now like Kramer dominating 7 year olds in that Karate class.
