/zone <playername> to get out of instances you are trapped in

    Known Issue with trying to leave instances. We have temporarily enabled a command that lets you zone to someone else. Just type /zone <playername> in chat and you will be free! Note this command will be disabled as soon as we have fix for this issue.

    I know for certain that my friend is online right now and I cannot zone to him. I even partied up with him. Does this really work? It may be broken.

    Hmm. It's a dev command that we certainly didn't intend to be used at scale so it may not always work. Sorry!

    Happened to me too. Tried to zone to Lord British (sorry, offline) so I played a hunch and tried violation - he spends lots of time helping people and just may have been around. Voila - I was out of the cave and back in Owlshead!:D

    Could it be, that it only works with targets, which have no last name? Just an assumption following Asclepius' post.

    If it is a player with two names, do you need to put an underscore between the two names for it to work?

    At work so cant try this myself.

    Online status has a bug which makes game think folks are offline when they are online. This breaks friends, parties, and /zone about 50% of the time. Working on a fix now.

    Also if someone starts to abuse /zone to harass you then please report them to support@portalarium.com and then you can use the block command to keep them from zoning to you.

    You might need to implement wildcard support in the block command to allow Lord British and the dev team some chance at quietly playing with a small group... ;)

    It looks like the best option here is for people to get into SotA chat and just start asking who is online (in the game) and just start zoning to everyone they can until they pop out of the trap. I will do this when I get home from work! At any rate... good to know of the issue and that is is being worked on. That is, after all, why we are playing/seeing this so early!
