Cost of Trainning and Skill Reset

    I totally agree. I wasn't paying attention and just bankrupted my character (27,000 gold). The Heavy Lifter is 1000 Gold per level. I realize this is my own fault. But this means no full character build and so no point in logging in at all.

    I am respectfully very upset about this one. Ahhh to hell with this. The frustration is just too high to deal with it. Later....

    So we're working on a bit of a solution, a one time gift to all players based on level. Current thinking is 1000 gold per level. So level 54 person will get 54k gold for training. That is enough for most people to train all their skills back to where they were or very near.

    A tip is to do what I did, I respecced with low tier skills and skipped the lever 3+ stuff I used to have.
    That way the cost was much lower.

    I think that - for testing pre-alpha - the costs could easily be reduced by a decimal point and still be conducive to expecting a "cost" to train.
    1000 gold is fine, but when the next wipe comes the current rates would be too high once again (unless you give out gold again, but then what's the point) -

    And those skill costs are certainly not conducive to much skill experimentation, which is what is wanted - right?

    I think it would be better to give players 200 gold per skill point or something like that. To take into accounts skill points from adventuring level.

    CRAFTING it is not to EARN money (except few items which can be turned form 50-100g to 500-1000g in AH) it is just for fun cause time needed to gather and refine is to much comparing to grinding.

    Usually there are 3 ways earn money in MMO CRAFT/GRIND/TRADE in AH or buy for real money (but i don't count that)

    CRAFT them don't buy them You will save plenty of money
    NOPE you need to find where to grind (hint check my bug reports from previous release devs didn't bother to fix them). You can earn 100k in 2-4 h easily, if you have luck in 1h :)


    I can agree here or maybe we both don't know how to mass craft.

    Well sure, Spoon... but why would we be required to do that?
    We're here to test, right? Making that excessively expensive is just counterproductive IMO

    Just reduce the costs of tier 3 and up by a decimal point.

    That would allow us to do much more experimentation.....
    Or -
    Let us sell skill points back when we want to try others...

    This is pre-alpha testing. Save the hard core for closer to release.......

    We are going to give everyone 1000 gold per level to make up for this but we are keeping the costs as they are.

    We are going to give everyone 1000 gold per player level (official announcement incoming) to make up for this but costs are not going to change.

    I thought you didn't want this game to be a grind fest, but at every turn you keep making it more and more onerous for the casual player.

    But you don't earn that much gold from grinding! Only after waiting hours or days for something to sell on the vendor, to another player...

    Also, now those other players are spending their gold on their own skills, they have no gold left to buy your resources ....

    I'm not sure why people think crafting is profitable!

    The only profits from resources are selling the useless junk to NPCs, and selling the raw resources to a crafter, who then purchases them, and makes gear from it, and tries without any luck to sell the armor for even half of what the resources just cost them.

    If you were training as you were leveling and only doing a few per level the cost would not seem so extreme. The issue here is that you are changing everything at once. Perhaps next time they should simply just wipe all the data and have us start from scratch. :rolleyes::oops:. No? Then besides just money you would have to do all the levels again as well.

    I dunno, with the exception of not charging any funds until you hit accept at a trainer (allowing you to move stuff around many times) , I really don't see this as a huge issue - opinions vary. Thanks for the gold bump DS & CS!

    TY the costs are not Off, I think they are spot on - for when we go live - but as of now to hack all our points and leave us hanging was :-(
