It would be great if we could 'befriend' some NPCs.. I have offered to buy drinks for every guard in every city I've visited.. if I could build up a friendship with some, and get them to agree to be a friend, why can't I teleport to them? :D

I don't think purchase orders on venders is a fair compromise. It is an easy out. Hopefully it will change to something more fun and helpful to bridge the gaps for us in so many ways. I'm hoping it is only a placeholder.

Yep with the friends list teleport we actually have unlimited recalls. Why not just make it so. I would even accept making it harder to craft recalls and making the cooldowns higher...just don't limit different playstyles. The mechanics are already in game for those with a multitude of friends...

I prefer any of these 4 options

    - no binds

    - one bind, small cool down, moderate expense

    - two binds, long cool down, too expensive to use more than twice a day

    - unlimited binds, at least a day cool down, very very expensive

    Is that working for you?
When I am forced to walk for 5mins across the same boring landscape - over and over and over and over - it somehow loses a bit of its "charm"..... (Actually ALL of its charm).

Let the binding places be up to the person ..... I hate seeing people spawning into the same spot... It looks awful.

I voted 2, but you guys know how I feel... obviously contingent on the following.

    1. The prerequisite of not being overweight stays as it is today.

    2. Our weight capacity affected by STR and Heavy Lifter is nerfed to a believable/realistic maximum.

    3. A 10 minute cooldown is added to teleport and recall to discourage the "little bit at a time" mass goods transport method and the "tele to my mule/friend" approach.

Personally wishes for none (gasp, how will I ever find my way home:eek:) only because I hope this might forc...er, persuade the devs to work faster on the horse and pack animal functionality quicker with player backing.:D I wanna ride on my horse and take my fully grown llama around with me when I go wandering and gathering.

I voted two but what I really mean is that it should be a high level spell... like very high, and if you want multiple binding points thats another skill you need to level up to "memorize" those locations.

Perhaps yet another skill to let people skip control points and regional limitation or distance.

You wanna be a pack mule and carry stuff around ? you have to specialize in magic travel. This way all lower level players will rely on regional economy and high level players who have scoured the land 200 times don't have to do it as much.

    Best of both worlds :)

    Two is better than one.

    Ice Queen nailed it.

The need for mules is just so old school!

I prefer as few bind points as possible. I hope mounts and boats are the primary means to travel long distance once they are in game.

Binds do break immersion, weaken regional economies, and cheapen the overall game experience.

If the game is too easy, many, including myself, will not play it. I loath theme park games.

I am not saying that having more binds is the end of the world. It depends on how it gets implemented. I am saying that while it may be better for some people, it is not something that should be settled in a forum poll.

If I make a poll asking if the game should be free, there would be overwhelming yes's even though the company would go bankrupt.

I strongly support the existing proposal of permanently limiting the number of binding points to only 1. I cannot argue with the fact that people have lives outside of this game, and due to the online/dynamic aspect of the game one cannot simply save the game and expect to come back to the same situation later on. Allowing any more than a single bind point is effectively opening the flood gates to any number of potential arguments about why "we need just one more"... I believe this will be even more important in future episodes, where there will be multiple continents and locations separated by vast distances.

Those of use who may have bought property need to realise that just because we may have paid for the privilege, that does not change what the game is about. Owning property is a "nice to have", but does not change the nature of the world enveloped by this "Shroud of the Avatar". I must confess to have become aware of "rune libraries" in Ultima Online, and to have even used them from time to time, though I did feel that the whole experience was greatly cheapened by the convenience and lack of adventure. I cannot help but feel that those who choose to occupy multiple properties in different locations and claim a need for fast travel at will - may have too much of an agenda behind to their own idea of altruism. In another thread I have proposed a compromise that would allow for genuine player events to attract players without being affected by the bind restrictions.

Jello Biafra of The Dead Kennedys said "Give me Convenience or give me Death". I choose death.
