So when the Crystal Sword is one use only, its basically gonna lie around to be used to kill a super hard to kill boss monster.

Seems a waste for such a nice, yet if otherwise implemeted overpowerd, weapon.

Would there still be a way to "fix" the sword after its broken?
Possibly with great skill and a giant stack of different time consuming non-buyable, non-tradable items/sources?

Tie a rope around the end to make it a ranged weapon of sorts.

I was speculating that the hilt could be used as a crafting ingredient for a new one or some other special item.

I don't know, the idea you could revive the sword kind of defeats the point... And makes it OP.

Perhaps you can revive it to a lesser power, or even just replace the blade to make a non-functional wall sitter.

Mixed feeling about that to... I like the idea... Maybe if the replacement blade was a different colour to indicate it's second hand knock off. Incapable of slaying anything in one blow, even a fly with 1 HP... Hey that could actually be useful...

Yeah, if the hilt can be retained, I don't see why that couldn't be an ingredient in any other sword recipe. It would then just become a regular sword of some quality, but definitely not one-hit kill. That would make some folks who didn't like the curvy blade happy, as they can now put whatever straight blade they like.

I guess this gets into breakable weapons and how they break and need repair. I don't think they've described how that works but perhaps weapons or any item would break into their craftable ingredients that can be reused in other items or simply repaired to remake the same one.

I will smith a unique crystal 5 blade sword...
and one day a monster will kill me and all will hunt for it in the dungeons.

It just looks to cool and needs to be hung up:

As cool as that is we need a shooting sword like in The Sword and the Sorcerer, Talon used

Cool Sword: A sword you could shoot people with. Stan Freberg's "forty-five caliber sword" joke takes on a whole new meaning here. A big deal is made in this movie of "whose steel is stronger." In the final fight against Cromwell, the titular 3-bladed sword actually breaks when Talon parries one of Cromwell's blows; thus, by the transitive property, we know that Cromwell's sword must be even cooler. Until Talon pulls the grip free, revealing another sword (more of a dagger, actually), which he stabs Cromwell with.

Late to the party on this, but thought I'd weigh in...

I don't much like the design, primarily the blade. I realize the intent is that it's a kris-style blade, which is fine; you could get a kris in U7, I believe, and U7p2 had those serpentine swords. I would just rather there be more waves along the blade in a tighter pattern.

Pistol grip optional. Although looking at these pics, it makes me want a gunblade (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

I actually don't mind the top pic at all. From that perspective, it makes sense that the overall structure of the sword is curved, but the Crystal Sword's hook is in the opposite direction as the curve based on this example. The Crystal Sword handle itself isn't as curved either. Need another pic of that sword at different angles.

I think the reason it makes more sense with that weapon is the pistol grip. There is an overall arch to the sword that doesn't seem as pronounced in the crystal sword. There's just a slight dip in the handle, but it could be the angle is obscuring it somewhat. Pistol grips always seemed non-standard to me, though I've used them in fencing before.

Yep, makes sense. I guess it just comes down to perspective on how we're seeing the Crystal Sword in that one image. There are other examples like these, where the arch ends up curving in the opposite direction from the hook and handle as you follow the blade to its tip. Granted, none of these have a really wavy blade design.

Doesn't appeal to my aesthetic but I like the image of Daedelus and the Sun. It implies a breaking, and this sword will bust it up, while breaking itself. Does not looks crystal but perhaps it will in-game.

I always liked the image of the glass sword precisely bc it seemed so impractical that it MUST be powerful magick.

This will be highly recognizable - ie you better run when you see someone coming w da crystal sword

I dunno. They 're over using it. It's already on multiple items unconnected to each other like the founders symbol cloak.

Meh I like it. Makes me think of Gilgamesh in Final Fantasy 12.
So at some point Gilgamesh traveled to here and nabbed one of these things from someone and got out?
Kind of puts me in mind of the Soul Reaver as well from the Legacy of Kain series. Without the skull and all.
The Moonlight Sword in the King's Field series is my all time favorite crystal sword

Well I must say I'm quite surprised myself.
I've always thought it would've looked like the Glass Sword from Ultima VI:
