Can I please get into bed?

Many of us are into realism and immersion. The idea of climbing into bed in our home before logging off is pretty attractive.
As long as there is no "emote" or mechanism for lying down on a bed, the workaround is to stand on the bed, facing the bottom end, and use the /liedown command.
That sadly doesn't work for the baron's bed - it is a lovely canopy bed, and in trying to get up on it the avatar hits his head on the canopy. It's a lovely decoration but nothing else.
So a request: could we please have EITHER:
An animation for climbing into bed - a double-click on the bed would be awesome. (preferred)
An adjustment of the code for the baron's bed to prevent collision with the canopy.

I thought this was an "I can't get to bed in real life because I'm enjoying myself in game" post based on the title.

Are you asking the government to get involved in what goes on in the bedroom?

But to topic: I hate the word immersion but I support this request.

 

It needs to work with bedrolls and those short camping tents too.

I also hate it, when everyone uses "immersion" without thinking what it exactly means in a computer game.
Play Far Cry or Star Wars: Battlefront - THATS an immersive gameplay and an immersive experience - SotA only looks like "a typical game" (and sometimes as it's 10 years or older ... )
But I LOVE SotA! Really! But it's not an immersive game - it's a classical MMORPG (and i hope someday it looks much better then now ...)

Budner, you're always welcome in bed... but make sure to bring lots of booze and other people... though that might also require extra beds as these are REALLY small for a proper fun time.

 

Ha - that's so self-evident it goes without saying! Many's the time I've been playing away and thought "I really should have gone to bed an hour or so ago, but I just.............." If the devs would just stop making such an awesome and addictive game a lot of us would get much more sleep - but there's no way in hell I'm going to submit that request

 

During a recent post mortem the devs (including Richard) assured us that we would eventually be able to climb into bed. I don't know why but they seemed to think that was a stupid question and OF COURSE that would happen.

So we need only wait.

 

Had we been able to climb into our beds in UO, then yes I would have thought it was a stupid question.. IMO it was a GREAT question!

 

I seem to remember RG saying something suggesting you could climb into beds in UO! Maybe my memory is bad. I don't have a lot of UO experience.

 

I've watched many interviews with Richard stating that if you're (Devs) putting it into game then it better darn well work! HAHAH So I expect they will get around to this

 

I'm not going to claim to be an expert.. but I played for 15 years & the only beds I could climb into where the ones made out of stacks of cut cloth.

**Why it was such a big deal when KR photos were first released.. From my memory this never was implemented though.

 

/sign Yes, please. I love being submerged in a sea of pillows and blankets, as fickle thoughts emerge from my subconscious, forming dreams that are so immersive, I no longer notice that I'm immersed in a catatonic state. Immersion - be careful what you ask for.

 

I'd love to be able to lay in beds, sleep, and eat in bed as well.

 

Agree! Would also be great if logging out in a bed boosted your daily experience bonus.
