    My feedback on Grand Tour.

I start the grand tour now.

It's always very PVE and not very pleasant to do.

It would be interesting to have a PvP Grand Tour next release.

EDIT: LOL, Chris Spears (PVP leader), Master of Hats, gives me a ultra PVE quest. WTF ?? Come on Chris.

I thought this quest was great, actually had to do something for the hat this time.

Unless they need shards from the Shardfall, or rare ingredients that only spawn nearby, I can't see a "PvP Hat" as a quest. Why would automations ask us to go slaughter each other?

Hmm... maybe the Kobolds did it! lol

Wasn't there one where one of the guides were in the Shardfall? Maybe he meant more of those?

They could do it to introduce cannibalism when that gets implemented.

    Meat hats all around! :D

    Leatherface masks.

But i really dont see having a rare limited-edition reward for a quest that requires you to PvP. People who dislike pvp definately do not like feeling forced to.

And having miss out on a reward because you dislike PvP is a hot button

Could be a reversal then. The PvPers could collect the "meat" resource, and sell them to the non-PvPers who don't want to participate, but still want the hat.

Plenty of ways of working it. :)

They could make seperate PvP and PvE sides to a single quest as well. But im assuming yall are referring to Killing people beign the objective for the reward.

People who suck at PvP and cant kill anyone will get mad very quickly. If they impliment PvP looting and have a collectable resource of dead players, then thsoe who cant fight would have to rely on friends or a kind (and very good, hardcore) PvPer. If not, then they will have to try to buy some from someone, and that opens the window for people to ask fo a large sum of gold if they wish.

It's possible, and many peopel would likely get their hats, but there is a certainty that some will not, and blame it on beign a PvP Quest. I dont think its a smart move.

Adding a duel path for the quest (a PvP and PvE one) would work but, it wouldnt be much mroe of an incentive to do the PvP than there is now, unless you're one of the good PvPers right now. and even then, if you have a friend at all in the game, you can jsut kill each other and get the hat effortlessly.

It's alot mroe difficult than having it be a PvE or crafting affair

Well... Never said life was easy.

Probably right about it rubbing too many noses the wrong way. But hey the dev team have done that in the past, I should not expect a little controversy to stop them now. :)

I wouldn't mind having to PvP to get a hat, really. As long as that was the focus of the release, so we are actually helping test something while beating each other.

In one release a Tour Guide was in Grunvald Shardfall and in another a Tour Guide was in Verdantis Shardfall. Speaking only for myself, I enjoyed having a reason to visit those places, because otherwise I would have been chicken

    Yeah.
And I guess a lot of PvErs see it the same way.
Alas the anti-PvP faction is a very loud one in this forum.

I have nothing against PVP, so long as nobody tries to coerce me into taking part in it. Live and let die, I say.

    That's cool.
But i guess you would be able to deal with a pvp grand tour quest?
Either by just doing it or not participating? Or just buying the stuff you need from the open market?

There would have to be a way for me to complete the quest that doesn't involve PVP. Buying the stuff I need doesn't cut it - I want to participate in a quest, not cheat. That would be like buying the cotton and hides required for the R20 quest instead of harvesting them yourself.

it depends on how the pvp grand tour has you do. if its to visit a place i think most of us non-pvp won't mind it. but if you have to say kill 5 people to get drops or to be on a kill list then no I prob would pass on the hat. But if they say give an option where if people wanted to pvp they have to kill so many avatars. But the non-pvp would have to visit a place and gather mats then I would be more into that hat quest.

As soon as there's any PVP-forced hat quest, based on killing other players, I hereby declare I'm willing to participate in fake, organized PVP, to let everyone get his/her hat without needing to be forced into a gameplay they don't like.

We can arrange any number of kills/thefts on demand. I usually play at night during Europe central timezone.

    You're welcome.

(Take that, you "I feel this urge to always open a can of worms nobody knows how to close" guys! Remember: you're the main reason why we can't have nice things :p)

When there will be a pvp drop quest there is always a basement where guild can hide and the quest itself. So there is no need to go out.

The grand tour has included PvP areas before.

I don't think the request was to include a quest to go to a PvP area, but to actually engage in PvP. Collect 10 scalps from angry avatars and come back in the morning, kinda thing.
