æhm – please explain to a newbee: whats this "skull" thingy?

 

when you die in pvp, either in an open pvp scene or in a private duel, a tombstone is created. it takes a couple of items from you and a body part: a hand, a jawbone, or a skull labeled with your name. if you can get to your tombstone to click on it, you get to keep them. if no one picks it up, you get to keep them. if the person who killed you picks it up, you'll have a set amount of time to ransom your random items back, but they get the bone whether you pay the ransom or not.

the evil eye is collecting skulls from players who've played before launch, but they're friendly about it. someone will duel you, let you get your headstone, and if you get a skull, you'll give it to them for the tavern.

@.rhavin hello and welcome to Shroud of the Avatar. @Alley Oop Thank you. The only thing I'll add is that I don't believe you get a body part when you loot your own tombstone. Unless they changed it this past release, I have not seen anyone get a body part when they loot their own tombstone in a few releases. So must people just have a friend or guildmate duel them and mail me a skull when they get one. Other people come to the Evil Eye and I'll show then around. Once satisfied we duel and stop once a skull is collected. All items, except the skull, are returned to the person. If you or anyone else would like a tour of the Evil Eye Tavern, just pm me in game and I'll show you around.
