hi im new and wondering some thing

furst of all im from euro and would like to find european friends
number 2 im brand new and got no clue as to were to go hunt
i done little here and there but am always swarmed with 3-5 monsters that or they run away from me ones i go after them in to a grup of 3-5

i started close to naked and so fare i only found a copple of shops selling stuff at a real high price
also seems npcs only sell the resepy to stuff i dont have an clue as to how or what i can make
i know nothing so would be nice with some ingame help on how to get started

so in advance thx i bean playing ultima online since 1999 but not seen any one in uo say they play shroud so i dont know if any one from euro server play this game char in uo was morgoth

 

btw ingame char name is morgoth redbeard funny thing is for some reasen i truend out to be a lady dont know why did not see any way to redo in to a male so im morgoth redbeard the lady (no beard) hehehehe

The best places for beginning level depends on which starting path you chose to do (as each one puts you in a different place). Let me know where you are at and I'll be able to help direct you better.

 

Hello, Morgoth2 ! Welcome to Shroud of the Avatar.

Your choice of male or female avatar is one of the choices on the very first screen to name and create your character. That is even before you choose your hair, eyes, height, etc.

If you want to start your character over (and be a male Morgoth Redbeard) you can. You could find the Bank in whichever town you are in. This is Soltown for most characters. Put everything you want to save from your character's Inventory into your private Bank vault. The only thing you would lose would be the gold you have gathered while on this female version. Then you could delete this one and start over.

Let us know which town your character is in, then it will be easier to advise about your best areas to hunt. Have fun, whatever you decide.

 

Also, look for anyone with a hospitaller title above their name. That usually indicates the person is willing to help in game and answer any questions.

There are lots of european players in most of the largish guilds, myself and mine included.

Depends on which path you chose and hence on your starting location.
If your starting location was Soltown, then good places to hunt is East Perennial Trail south along the road from Soltown, and Solace Bridge north along the road. Also if you search the Soltown graveyard you will find your way to the Soltown catacombs which is also super friendly full of stuff which wants to get to know you up close.

The default at avatar creation is female. You set the sex in the same interface as you set the name. The only way currently to switch gender is through deleting your character and starting over.

I have a vendor in Soltown that sells basic supplies where everything is <100g and second hand/bad so that only new arrivals would want need it.

However, if you need gold there are two easy tricks
1) each new Town Crier you meet gives you 100g
2) you can talk to the Oracle in a Confirmatory daily to get 500g if you answer the way she wants (There is one in Ardoris which is south of Soltown).

As long as you put your stuff into bank storage you will keep it even when deleting the avatar, so if you buy stuff for the gold and place in storage it will be there for your new you.

Yeah sounds like you are near the path of courage.

I think if you head south west (towards vertas pass) there is an area called Mariah Overlook (I think it is low level, but its been awhile since I've been in that area). If you go mostly due east and the follow the ocean south you will eventually get to brittany which has a boat in the harbor that will take you to hidden vale (lots of low level areas around there).

http://www.sotamap.com/ is a great resource for finding out where you are where to go. I believe it also shows you the skull level (1-5 1 being the easiest and 5 being the hardest).

 

If close to Highvale then you want to seel out Resolute for your supplies.
