[Info needed]Client Crashes (Not Responding)

    1. Title: Client Crashes (Not Responding)
    2. Reproduction Rate: 100%
    3. Blocker: Yes
    4. Details: After loading a scene the game will freeze and enter a not responding state until manually closed. This happens depending on the scene either immediately after moving the camera or after a few seconds of running around. Unfortunately due to the nature of the crash no logs are created.

      I've been using the force DirectX9 switch (-force-d3d9) up until now but in light of DirectX 9 support ending at Release 42 I'm reposting here.

    @Lained are you still seeing this? I suspect this is an isolated incident, and I'm not sure when you started to hit this wall...
    You may possibly want to try re-installing if you have not yet. Is there any particular reason why you are using DirectX 9?

    @Lexie I started using the DirectX 9 switch in r36 on the recommendation of @Attenwood, at each new release I've tried without it and have had the same issue, I've reinstalled numerous times since then.

    With me being the newbie, I'm sorry to make you repeat stuff you've already gone over...
    DirectX 9 will obviously not work as the resolution in the future. I think we need to explore the output_log.txt option next.

    Someone mentioned in Discord wiping the games settings resolved a different issue so I tried a complete reinstall as well as clearing the Portalarium registry settings, yet still the game crashed to a non responding state.

    @Lained Could you go to the folder 'Shroud of the Avatar_Data' after the game freezes for you the next time? There should be the file 'output_log.txt' or 'sota_log.txt' there. Paste its contents here.

    I'm having the same issue. It doesn't seem to be related to manipulating the camera, though. I have tried using Steam to launch and not using Steam. Either way, game crashes. It's within about 5 minutes of the area loading.
