Interesting. I got a really good spot and I am no Duke.
And I got a really good spot for another deed a couple of days ago. So *shrugs*

People still drop off the face of the earth and they're lot goes poof. At this point, everyone has the same chance.

[edit] Also, what is perceived as a "good" lot now may not be the same as what it was right after persistence.

At persistence everyone wanted the big NPC towns. Now I think being in a good POT is far superior to being in an NPC town.

When I read the title saying "sceptre fixes" I was thinking they were finally fixing the bug that allows using two 50% tax reduction sceptres to give you a tax free deed :p :p

Since go-live we've had a couple of server maintenance downs, but we never really had them before - seems a little odd. However it could be tweeks for performance and the like due to more players who knows
