I don't use the mouse, as I got used to WASD + mouse for charge attacks as an archer. But I agree that it is something that probably shouldn't have been changed (at least, not without a "switch left and middle mouse button" option). The only time I've used a mouse with a usable middle button was back in Windows 98 days, and it looked something like this (without the side scrolls):

Perhaps it is a good reminder that this is an Early Access game, and everything is subject to change. Reminder, final wipe is not release! Release is when you should be upset about a change like this, not now.. now is the time to try things and find the best way. Chris stated his reasons and the problems found so far that will be fixed in a patch shortly.. what would you suggest we do, put things back the way they are? No, it was changed because it doesn't quite work, or they'd not have made the change. Anyway, feel free to go on about things ppl.. it is what it is.. and the old way was no better.

THANK YOU PORT FOR THE CHANGE!

Couldnt charge attack and turn camera while in cursor mode without running forward, was very annoying.

:( Seems we still won't be able to, they are putting it back. I for one, feel the way movement is needs change, and was hoping this was the start of a better control scheme.

As of a minute ago, Chris stated the following (in Discord chat):
So.... Chris just now looks at WHY mouse movement was changed, and is putting it back.

    My question:

How does this stuff get in WITHOUT you knowing who changed it and WHY it was changed?

May I remind everyone that this in now like the 4th time we are going over the mouse moment conversation over the years.

This is nothing NEW. This has been argued and changed BACK to 2 button mouse movement several times. <every time it's been changed it's been changed back due to all the folks who are either handicapped or just plain old PREFER IT!>

WHY WHY WHY do we have to keep fighting with the devs over this?

People want it... people NEED IT. And it's won on it's merits every other time...

Are you going to tell me it no longer has it's merits and we need to point them out ONE MORE TIME?

C'mon! This is really getting ridiculous.

    Laz

    EDIT:

Seems there was quite a change while I was writing this post. :)

I'll thank everyone for their due diligence once it's fixed.
