Neon Colors *POLL*

In lieu of our recent Shooter Jennings items in the add-on store, I thought this would be a good time to poll our backers about their opinions on neon colors.

 

I'm happy the neon pink is very limited.

 

N N O OOOOOOEEEEEEEE
Only as a very VERY minimal highlight

 

Where this would be great is in alchemy. I would love to be creating concoctions and have a whole shelf of potions, some being more mysterious looking than others.

Bubbling ones,
bright ones,
dull and old cobweb looking ones,
glowing ones....

on top of a jabbering Bertha persuading passerby's to try one.

*One week later* News reporters mention a high increase in pigs roaming the streets of Owl's Head.

 

Being isolated to a fundraising cause makes it perfectly acceptable, as it is just a game. To be reminded of breast cancer awareness is more than acceptable.

Barring that? Heck no.

Generally more options are good things but please for the love of all that is holy do not populate our world with neon.

Is everyone just biting their tongue and being polite about the Shooter Jennings neon pic? I love his music (and plan to buy the album) and appreciate his contribution to SOTA, but has there ever been a more out-of-place item? (that said, I'm wondering if this is an early taste from Portalarium that will enable us to make custom pics - could be a great Add-on Store item, $5 for a pic, you supply the file and they turn it into an in-game painting).

 

I haven't seen too much issue on the FB page personally; it's been pretty conducive lately. I do agree that while I'm happy for the special occasion, I am a fan of keeping the neon garish to a minimum

 

What's the point in being concerned with more neon colors being added into the game when the Hot pink was special situation sort of thing?

I believe we should introduce more neon colors to SotA. More colors in general would be welcomed as well. Colors represent many things to all sorts of people. Why limit this? To name a few...

Sorry about the ban but we don't have bandwidth to moderate Facebook like we do here so when we see troll-ish comments we usually just ban since in the past when we just hide those posts the user immediately just reposts. Furthermore if you had made a respectful comment along the lines of "Because it is for cancer awareness I am perfectly happy with this color but I hope they don't keep adding more of these neon colors" none of this would have happened.

 

Never once said I was concerned so not sure where you got that idea. This post was created to see what the opinions of backers on colors are. As far as "special situation sort of thing", can you show me a Dev post where it was stated that this was a one time deal?

The fact that you took the time to do a facebook post, then come here and create a poll about it implies that you are concerned.

Also, no I cannot provide you with a post where a Dev stated this was a one time deal. That's not at all what I said. I said this was a special situation. The hot pink was obviously a theme color for the Shooter Jennings album release, also Shooter and SOTA has a partnership of some sort in effect right now. This is the special situation I'm referencing. Why should something that is beneficial to SOTA and it's partners only happen once? I would hope a backer of SOTA would be welcoming to more special situations like this in the future.

Thanks for the response DarkStarr! I didn't think my post was trollish, just saying I thought it looked terrible in comparison to our other color spectrums.
