It was +8% summon elemental creature damage, sorry for the confusion.

It could be an artifact that was enchanted by a player. That enchantment starts at 4-5% .

Carefully watching the feedback from you and the others on taming specialization. So far the sense I'm getting is that pouring all those XP into it is nowhere near the benefits I'll be getting from investing the same amount of XP into my two favourite magical trees. So I'll be holding off taking the plunge till I see a more favorable consensus.

There should be no hesitation in taking the taming tree specialization (or any other specialization) if it was really worth the XP investment. All I'm seeing so far is a lot of reservations about doing that for the taming tree.

One nice thing about this release is the 9x exp potion, you can dump 100 mil into a tree and get it back and put it into another tree all in a day or two. So anyone that's curious about taming should check it out if you already have the exp. I have been trying lots of combos with taming. Thursday I'm not sure what I'll put points into. I still really want to be a tamer...

That 1 gold Cota cost for the weeks worth of quick learning is nice, just don't forget that that 3x Gold Cota instant unlearn for a single skill is both quick and permanent.
Be careful when dropping skills to pack some xp's into your pool...............

0 +8% is still 0. That's the issue with the summons if it comes to magic trees.

plus no special moves or effects that their "wild" cousins have in abundance.

It would be enough if they would be remotely as strong as their wild counterparts. I don't even need direct skill control. Leave that to the tamers.

My Bear is back in his box and the 20+ Spiders i had tamed are now going up for sale, my Taming skill have all been lowered on main server now and has given me a lot of xp to stick into another specialisation( kind of a free bonus). I have gone with my original choice which i knew to be good for my build, taming i was attempting to make work but the xp needed to have something still not great and all the loss's associated with taming, neck slot/focus/ 3 hotbar slots make it a no brainer for all unless they really really really want to be a tamer imo.

If they ever allow us a third specialisation then i will look at it again...maybe. Bye bye Hargol and Squirter, we had much fun but no more :(

Very sorry to hear that :( I'll be keeping my pets around for some T2/T3 area resource grinding for which my (minimal) taming tree is good enough for. As much as I love them, the R51 QA taming tree looks too iffy to spend points on and I sincerely doubt it's going to be any better once it actually goes live.

May drop by your NBM vendor to pick up a spider or two once R51 drops :)

I've just got into the fold as a tamer, new to the game aswell.
I can say I love the skill thus far, and I'm sure they will continue to improve that late game experience for us. I think a way they could do it, as in agreement with OP is to create more tamables (would be more interesting anyway). And a Shepherd's Crook type artifact seems like an awesome idea too! Especially with the specs coming out today.

A Shepherds Crook is an excellent idea.

If using a normal weapon, the necklace slot is taken up, and the pet is more support.
If using the Shepherds Crook, the weapon slots are taken up, and the Crook can enable a much more powerful pet that deals damage on par with our other weapon classes.

The ideas for glyphs in the tree that activate pet abilities are spot on awesome too!

    Returning player here hi.
Does tame creature skill increase pet stats?
i think something like that was mentioned way back.
and if does how big impact on 100 skill taming?

agaia and again and again - Specialization in Taming = Combat Training Boost and nothing more.

The Taming skill tree is still completely broken, not one thing you do there is significantly affected by specialization.

The Specialization in the taming tree is nothing but Combat Training 2.0.

You fist have to get all you skill up to use a pet, which mean nothing but summoning 96 for FRS everything else could me nothing (prerequisite) and then 80 in Combat to unlock the Special then boost the pet.

Taming tree is a complete WASTE of skill points. So oyu have once again been warned - sure it might get some actual love in the future but do not hold you breath.

Specialization in Taming = Combat Training Boost and nothing more.
