    Hello Everyone,

We just launched a new visual style for the website. We wanted a cleaner look than we had before but still felt in the world of Shroud which is why we chose the parchment over stone look you now see. More improvements to the website will be coming over the next few weeks.

    Thanks,
    Starr

I like it. It loads much faster than the old format, too.

    I prefered the old one.
It may be my screen, but the color match between the pale background and the scroll texture isn't really good looking.

The background image needs a lower luminosity, or a higher contrast.

I was just admiring it a few moments ago.. looks nice.. a bit more refined and less temporary. It does look a little simple though but I assume refining the visual style is among the afore mentioned improvements. I'm really liking it so far.

I like it.... I've always been a sucker for parchment, I wonder why.

Surprised me on the light colors but that's fine. The fonts need a little touching up too plain.... perhaps the Avatar font? ;)

Not feeling it... I would turn down the saturation of the parchment behind the text and the background should be of a similar hue IMO (not gray), and I would make the background darker (or at least use an image that does not look like it had the contrast/brightness severely modified)

    Just a suggestion~

A website is the first impression a company makes on the public. During a time you want to be inspiring confidence to donate to a project, it's even more important. :) If it does not look appealing, people will immediately click out before even reading anything.

Very true. You want a website that looks very professional. I can't tell you how many times I've been put off by a business's website because it looked cheaply done. It really gives you an impression that that's how they run their business. A solid, professional looking site tells people that you're serious about what you're doing.

I'm confident that this is just the first step leading into the alpha.

Honestly, the old one was better. This one looks a little less professional and a bit more amatuer. Just really not liking how the hovering over everything jumps out and slaps you in the face. Before it was smaller was nice. now its like 'all your screen are belong to us'.

Ok serious note, tis not too bad but I do prefer the old one over the new one.

Remember.. the old one was the pre-pre-alpha version.. we are not heading into the pre-alpha version.. There's still alpha.. pre-beta.. beta and final stages.. though by beta it should be pretty darn polished and spiffy. :)

    Hi there,

thanks for the feedback and all the suggestions. There will be more tweaks in subpages, and layout details, next week. There's always some polishing that can be added. Some of the things are still from the old site, and will be cleaned up, as well. And... about the loading speed - yes, it is faster than the old one, however, I haven't even squeezed the last bits out of the graphics, yet. There should be another slight loading speedup, next week.

Prost zusammen, and have a great weekend,
    ~ Tassilo

I like Dame Lori's background much better :) - the new one is way too bright! Also, the new type is too small for those of us with poor eyesight. (Personally, I prefer a Monotype Corsiva 14 pt type, which is a much better fit for parchment.)
