    Player Basics - Recipes

This guide will just go over the basics of how to use and find recipes to be able to craft the various items in the game. It's quick, fast and straight to the point.

    Recipes

Recipes come in 3 different types:

Re-Teachable: These recipes can discovered and added to your Recipe Book by making them. You will need to put the exact number of components AND have the minimum level of skill to make the item, on the appropriate crafting table.

Checking the wiki for the Trunk recipe, this recipe is discoverable (Re-Teachable). We will need 30 in the Carpentry Skill and all of the components listed while on a Carpentry Table.

Players can also teach you these recipes for free. These recipes can also be purchased by NPC’s (not recommended) or some can also be found on player vendors, but again, it is recommended you never buy Re-Teachable Recipes.

Teachable: These recipes must be purchased from a NPC or taught to you by other players for free. You cannot make any of these items without the recipe in your book.

Not-Teachable: These recipes can only be found in random drops from Supply Bundles or purchased from player vendors. You cannot make any of these items without the recipe in your book.

Finding the location of recipes from NPC vendors

The Wiki* has most of all the locations of the various recipes you can buy. To find a recipes location, go to the wiki and search for the item you are looking to craft. For this example, I want to craft a Bronze Ingot:

At the top right of an items page, you will see a link to the recipe page for the item (the red highlight). Click that link.

The Recipe page shows the location of all the NPC vendors who have this recipe.

Again, as stated before, if an item does not show a NPC location where you can purchase it, those are recipes can only be found in random drops from Supply Bundles or purchased from player vendors.

And that covers the basics of crafting recipes! So go forth and craft!

*The Wiki is a site that is maintained by the community, and is owned and maintained by Jayson Browncoat. Most all of the various recipes and vendors listing are up to date, and is continually updated. Some discrepancies or out of date information might be found on occasion on some of the recipes or locations. Many of us do try and make sure all the recipes and recipes locations are up to date. If you happen to find a recipe with wrong or outdated information, feel free to send me a PM or make a post in the Wiki discussion forum: https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/sotawiki-update-thread.48780/
