    Is entirely too expensive.

I can't mine coal or salt to avoid the cost of a game/dev controlled necessity.

It's strictly purchase from NPC who are charging way too much... it's enough that we have to gather resources but the cost to utilize them is crazy especially when these items are burnt on failure.

Unless I'm missing something here... the "burn materials" (as I'm calling them lol) should be very cheap,

1 gold for 10 of them not 10 gold for 1 of them

The fuel for materials are now going up and down based on the inventory. If someone grabbed a large quantity of them, then price will go up for certain period of time.

In Owl's Head, it's 12 for coal and 14 for salt now.

    Maybe try different town?

In Brittany Fields it was 6 for salt and 4 for coal.

Seems like this is a good reason to spread out at this point.

Are they resetting after a time or are they going to continually go up.

If they reset GtG, BUT if they go up and up and up trhat is complete BS.

It gets reset eventually.. This feature has been around for awhile now, but no one bought stuff in bulk up (they increase the max amount of fuel from 99 to 1000) until now.

It happened before with row lot deeds after the 55 mil handout. After a day or two, the price get changed back. Maybe it's 24 hours thing?

The good news is that if you spend hundreds on wax, salt, coal, etc. you can craft something that sells for less than than the raw resources you started with.

We're persistent and we were told there would be a full economy pass before persistence, but there hasn't been a pass in changing item prices/values.

14g curing salt has been the price everytime I go to Owls Head. That and 8g-10g coal has cost me every gold piece I own (other than skill buys)

The fuels are dynamic in each town, so if the prices are too high in Owl's Head (which is because of activity) shop in Braemar, Kingsport, the POT style NPC towns nearby and you'll find prices much, much lower.

If they want an entirely player-run economy then such items should either start appearing as loot or be harvesting bi-products or otherwise.

Agree, there's no reason why coal and salt for example couldn't be mine-able. Wax and Creosote may be more difficult but I'm sure we could come up with some way to harvest them. ;)

Things used for 'fuel' in crafting shouldn't be gatherable, they should stay bought. This is one of the ways to take money out of the economy instead of just spreading it around. These sinks are neeaded to control how much gold is in the world.

Fluctuation is not my concern it is the high prices everywhere... missing my point... I should be getting 10 for 10g not 1 for 10g, fine with the 5 for 6 or 7 gold where its a rare item but also should have somewhere its 15 for 1 gold... Desolace, from a salt flats and salt mine maybe.

The point is they started the game at a set amount of gold per item... that number was way over priced.

They want a game where the players spend large amount of time crafting... Hello it's not being encouraged with the price of burn mats.

FYI, coal is mineable in the current release, although I haven't seen it gathered in large quantities yet. I did come out of one scene with around 15 pieces one day.

I was not specifically looking for coal, but gathered it in between mining ore nodes.

If it werent for vendor taxes, i'd run cheaper fuels to owls head from other places and make a little semi passive gold by selling fuel

On Wednesday, the Tailor in Owl's Head was asking 8 g for curing salt. I didn't check to see if the crafting merchant was asking the same price. On Sunday the crafting merchant in Ardoris was asking 16 g for it. Supposedly the prices will fluctuate according to supply and demand, but we'll have to keep an eye on things to see how it is working.

In any case, if it turns out that I no longer have to travel all the way to Owl's Head to be sure to get the best price for rusty weapons, I will purchase something frivolous in the add-on-store to celebrate. :)

    Thanks for the info :)

Presumed the market was citywide. Will have to look more closely!

Is it profitable to run these items between towns? Anyone tried?
