    yes. They are getting revenge against those who thought the glyph combat system was going to suck. (I was one of those who had serious doubts about that system). I'm converted. The combat system is great. Now they need to tune it more, by adding combos etc.

    So basically to answer your question, they are just tuning and testing the combat system, there are no PvP plot elements at all yet.

    And to potentially contribute to further insanity. I have just posted a new idea in regards to looting. At least I assume it's a new idea. I did not want to post it here though as it would quickly be lost I think in the some thousands of posts.

    My new thinking is forget about PVP since it won't matter for anything.
    Might as well play single player or friends.
    What is the point of PVP, there is no danger, you will hardly lose a thing, you won't go criminal or be a hero killing one, raids are annoying if that whats PVP for.
    Is PVP like in SWTOR so you can play Hutt Ball or something and feel good you scored more points then someone else. I'll go play some 3d shooter or something if I want that kind of PVP.

    PVP should be about effecting the game. Not just some quick thrill.
    Loot
    Steal
    Trap
    Conquer - Defeat
    Expand your land - Lose your land
    Build buildings - lose buildings
    Live and die to fight for whats right or murder and terrorize others
    Build a bridge - burn down a bridge
    serve the people - serve the government - serve yourself
    Kill and loot destroy NPC players or come and save them and trade with them
    Spread a disease, stop a disease
    Give some meaning to PVP besides I got the highest score.

    R8 PvP will not be what PvP consists of in Release. R8 PvP was exactly as you describe. It was enormously fun, but I think it would wear thin quickly. You describe elements that would prevent PvP from wearing thin, so I hope SotA PvP features all your suggestions and more.

    This post is excellent. I love this post. I agree with the direction they are heading. I was one of the GTFO FULL LOOT OR DIE. However I think this is much better and will get more people out on the pvp field versus everyone pvping in robes cuz that is what I did in UO LOL!!!

    great post hope it gets considered if there is no purpose to pvp this game will be no diffrent from other except that you get villages and can craft more... lets hope it wont be the case
    SWTOR is a very poor game dont take anything from that SotA devs plz

    I have no issues with mini-games/arenas in SotA. I enjoy capture-the-flag type games and, in my opinion, Hutt Ball nailed it perfectly. During my SWTOR years I did more WarZones than tatooine ganking. The constant grind for gear, and the limited number of "maps", ruined it for me.

    Yes and no. I agree PvP should affect the game in the manner you described but I also had some of my biggest PvP thrills in UO that were nothing more than FFAs which had little to do with loot or story.

    You're right! I want a murder count to mean something! ;)

    Events in UO were never put into action, the FoA agenda really put an interesting perspective on PvP but all seers were fired because EA tought it was better to protect the hackers and money market than its passionate loyal servants.

    You're funny to be so egoist since FFA is all that ever was since usually one giant guild dominated a shard.

    It's very funny to see politics upside down and people saying "me me me" in all kinds of colorful ways :)

    As I remember it, the Seer program was eliminated because some Seers decided they didn't want to volunteer their services any more, and demanded to become paid Origin employees. Origin decided there were too many liability issues involved, so they killed the program.

    See? Things like this are the reason we can't have nice things.

    Well my friend we agree on so many issues that it would seem some other more shady "I have a secret" politics are at play, invent your own conspiracy theory at your leisure but this is a very important element.

    We are to learn from our past errors, and letting such a socially important issue "pass by" and "I remember it differently" is a crime in and of itself. Especially for meaningful PvP...
