Story completed end of July, Launch later

Launch of Episode I (the story) is in July.
The "launch" RG keeps droning on about is in July.
The seed website just says "launch" in July.

But the real launch is later? Fine with me. Can we still get new variants of NPC vendors? I think that would make the scenes with player housing look much better and that translates to happier players, better reviews, and a better game.

 

How do you launch an "episode" without considering that launching the game? Persistence, I could get.. but this?

That's too confusing. In the telethon Richard stated story complete only and that they won't launch until it is ready. We cannot launch in July unless quite a bit happens in the next 2 months. I don't see that we are ready. I would feel better with a good 6 months before episode 1 launches at least and even better with 12 months but I still stand by the team and the game.

 

yes they should take that down. It is not possible in this state.

 

It doesn't matter at all to me. We improve each month, and there's really not a reason to have a "launch" other than for marketing purposes.


What is concerning to me is that there is very clear language in the Series B information that states they plan to launch in July. Doesn't say anything about marketing or episodes, it says "software". So as a word of advice to Portalarium staff, get your story straight because actual "investors" are going to care about what you say A LOT and unlike joe average "player" it's going to matter A LOT. Not trying to argue with you guys, just trying to help. Take a step back Portalarium, and get your story straight.

I would also recommend editing the investment website. To be completely honest, it doesn't just feel confusing, it actually feels misleading. It very clearly states the software is being launched, with no mention of specifics like "story".

Last night as Richard was explaining the Series B offer (which is cool and I'd love to take part in), as the night continued they transitioned to the story of Artifice. I immediately began wondering who would be the first to connect the Artifice Lottery to the stock offering. Surly the trolls will find a way to use this.

But whatever, the fact remains that the game improves every month, I love playing it, and I'm excited that the story will soon be complete and marketing should begin sometime this year.

 

I found this also - We will have a similar purge of storyline game state in Summer 2017 at the start of SoTA official story release launch.

 

Is this the Quest reset? That will happen on July 31st, 2017? I'm asking, because it's been talked about and wondering if the Quest Reset as LB has confirmed will occur will take place on/around July 31st, 2017? Sounds like the answer is yes, but confirmation would be nice

 

That is from the seedinvest site. Hopefully there is enough time to test the rest of the Oracle quests to make sure everything works.

 

To second @Bubonic 's comment I would get your corporate counsel review such disclosures about launching and not-launching.

 

I think this basically means the quest reset will occur in July. (So play it now if you want to get to replay it.)
Other than that things continue per usual with a "live release" to get new people to come see the game later this year. (IE they will start advertising the game as ready later, near the end of the year?)

 

I'm confused what is the difference between ep1 story launch and game launch? How can it be that the game is still in 'Early Access'? So we had a persistence world since one year but the game is not launched, we get an ep1 launch in July but the game is still not launched. Yes, I'm confused

 

I think "launch" could refer to the ad campaign to get new players.

Highly recommend you go adjust your investment site, as the wording is terrible and deceiving. Clarification on here only is NOT enough.
