Making of Brittany Alleys

I hope some of those water lots will be decent "Water Town Lots". So far they seem to be an afterthought, the one in Brittany is more of a water ghetto hardly fit for a Lord. I expect more from my $1200 pledge. A decent view, not all crowded together and not on some distant island.

 

Speaking of this, I'm looking forward to Brittany Wharf..

With an industrial look it would be cool to see lights from the wharf lamps reflecting into the sea,



Also would be cool to see something like Old London Bridge, with row lots directly on the bridge,

I'm glad to see social media used for something other than just linking to the weekly update!

If I can make a suggestion, I recommend leveraging social media to increase engagement. Posts to Facebook, Twitter, and the like (you should get a Tumblr and an Instagram!) should have questions. Have a call to action. Invite the fans to answer questions or debate topics.

As people comment on the Facebook posts, it appears in their feed for everyone else to see. That way your Facebook posts have a far greater reach than just the people who already liked the page.

For example, post some pictures of Brittany Fields and Brittany Alleys side by side and then ask people:

"Would you rather live in the open fields where you have room to grow your crops, or the busy alleys with tightly packed row houses?"

Now you're prompting people to react. I spend a lot of time thinking of social media, PR and community engagement.

 

Excellent ideas! I love those engagement suggestions. I'm just getting warmed up on social, don't you worry . Keep those ideas coming!

 

Just wanted to give you guys an update on some of your suggestions, so checking it out.


Added smoke to the smoke stacks. Going to look into making the sky more hazey.


Added a Viking bar in more of the central town area. This is more of a beer garden with only outdoor seating.


Added a bar on the beach too, more of a scenic view while you are having your brew. Thinking it should be called "The Sand Bar" yeah.... it's pretty cheesy.

 

Thanks for bringing this up, I was just about to add the water lots. I will keep this in mind.

 

I can think of ways to make it cheesier....

 

Too bad Sherry isn't here to eat up all the cheese.

 

Great idea on the Viking Beer Garden!

 

There should be a fishmonger by there Or the bar should specialize in fish.

 

Nothing but fish stew and sea shanties.

Telling stories about having caught mermaids and fighting sea serpents and having their ship capsize because of a white whale who had malice in his eyes.

 

I believe the Aerie dialogue got in this release. There are two NPCs in Aerie who will each sing you a sea shanty.

 

Oh we need them to also play musical instruments along to the sea shanty, like bards would play their lutes in some of the Ultimas.

Also, would be cool if there was a /whistle function in the game where we could whistle notes, and NPCs could do the same.

 

I like water town lots because they will be almost exclusively boats. Water city lot could be castle or a galleon/frigate though I'd hope for frigate/galleons over the Duke city-sized water-castle.
