Fruity Pants seems more in line with the general trend here...although that has another connotation that OP might not like for his character.

I'm appalled that the moderators of this game can't handle "Stinky Britches." It's absolutely absurd to force a name change for that.

Just because some idiot might mistake 'Britches' for 'Bitches?' Get a grip, people.

Edit: Might as well moderate Lord British. I mean, British is almost kind of sort of a bad word!

Oh sure, blacksmiths can say whatever they like, but miners are nothing more than slaves to you people??

    'could be'....'if you change'... Hmm.

Think that's reaching a bit, but still, best of luck working out what could possible be misread or changed by the context a reader (from various different countries, regions, language groups and cultures) might find 'offensive' or inappropriate'

Just don't end up in the silliness UO devolved into, where nobody could use smith in their names because they might be fooling people they were NPCs, or people could play an assassin or use grass tiles to decorate their homes but the 'naughty word' filter meant those terms were unuseable in character names.... as, at one point. was the letter combination 'ea' because someone might use it to impersonate company staff

Someone must have complained about it, that's the saddest thing, that someone takes offence over a silly name in a game...

Ah I think you're missing something in your equations here fellas.

That is, that SotA holds itself to a certain standard when it comes to the atmosphere of the game itself. It has since the beginning, and thus, names like Stinky Britches were never going to be allowed, the same way numbers or symbols in the name will also never be allowed.

The person who reported the name apparently understands this, so it doesn't necessarily mean that they were offended by the name at all.

How hard is it really to play the game with a name that fits in with the atmosphere anyways? A little maturity in the way we're naming our characters is the least we can do as players to show appreciation, to both the developers and other backers, for that this game even exists. I commend SotA staff for monitoring this out of respect for the backers as a whole, to ensure they enjoy their time here, and I don't see it as tyranny in any way.

You might be right if it wasn't for the fact that Berek stated in this thread that the name was changed because of one single letter - not because it didn't fit with the atmosphere.

That being said, I too wish people would get in the habit of using actual "name-sounding" names instead of names that are more like statements or descriptions.
