Will there be npc Orcs ingame and more importantly will they spawn orc helms for player orcs to use in their role playing? I know there are a number of active Orc Clans such as Bloodrock, Bloodclan, Boulderfist, and any others (?) that have kept player Orcs alive and waiting for the day for UO to become the game they've wanted to play once again.

We'd like a way where we can have an orc fort(s) with smaller orc dwellings around it. Is this going to work with the housing system that's in place?

We are also very interested in being a part of events which involve citizens attacking orcs and getting sacrificed to our goddess Kren'bluck.

At the moment the only playable race is Humans ... I'm not sure if the Dev team has stated any information concerning the inclusion of other playable races in episode 2 or any episode there after.

I agree that rp and pvp in an orc clan, even on oceania, was some of the best times I remember from UO.

I think Kobalds might be the new orcs but it would be great to head on down to the fort and start some clomping mayhem. Don't really need a dwelling, just carry a bedroll and a knife to make kindling for a campfire and you're good to go.

There will not be orcs. Sorry, Shadowclan! SotA has its own lore and races, and hopefully will also support the emergent gameplay that made the orc fort awesome.

We aren't looking to be a playable race put together by devs. We just want helms to wear on our heds. We do all the roleplaying and language in game. SKAH!

So that's what all those random orc helms were for!! I remember seeing lots of those in Ultima Online, and thought their only function was for every new player to think they're worth something, pick them up, and find that they can't sell them because nobody wants them! :D

If the story necessitates that we're an Avatar from another world, so be it. And I've heard it often said that is the major justification for why you have to be human. But does the world the Avatar travels from have to be Earth?

Couldn't there be other playable races from other worlds?

That being said, I'd rather see non-traditional/non-cliche races, more like Planescape and less Elves/Dwarves/Orcs.

Following Ultima lore, my understanding is the Gargoyle race was such a species. So yes, it is certainly possible.

At the moment though, humans are the predominant species, and most likely any attempt by another sentient to make a foothold in the world will be met with violence and extermination (humans being who they are). :)

I my mind, the "player" is you but the "character" is not. So there's no reason I can't assume the form of an orc or a mouse or whatever.
