Defeated by the Tour Guide Quest

Those liches were part of the fun for me i was doing other stuff then saw a lich in front of me... thought my partner summoned it! then saw TWO LICHES (a fighter and mage) and that's when i came up to the conclusion that something wasn't right After some deaths i was told they came out from the room closed by "spirits" behind the Tour Guide... learning how to enter there seems something cool to do

 

Um...they put up a mystic barrier to prevent the liches (there are two) from attacking you I guess they figured that the ghosts were tough enough

 

I was literally killed by a lich that came through that barrier. So it must have been a weird bug.

Having run through this twice with KuBa .. and the aforementioned run (which Included Roper DocHoliday) I have to Salute the efforts of these fine players.

These folks deserve Kudo's. I'm not even going to try and fluff this... last night (with my brand new noob) I ran this for my 2nd time with KuBaTRiZeS and his spirit to keep on trying..."come on Sol he said.. one more time.. we Almost made it"... over and over until we DID make it is what gaming can be about. I haven't died so much since learning to kill a certain mob as a newb doing a beta MMO in '95. I still remember that... and I'm betting 20 years from now, I'll still remember this insane quest.

These devs think they can push you around. Well I won't stand for it. Several days after the tour guide quest has been figured out by more capable players than I, and a video has been posted about how to solve it, I will be the first person in line to get my tour guide rewards! I won't rest until those videos are watched! :shakes fist:

Bring on the dragon, troll, phoenix, demons! The other players can take it!

 

I completed it 8 times, and never watched the video once. That is all.

 

You're a better man than I am. I completed it once and thought "I'm so glad I don't have to do that again."

Of course, I wasn't in a group or wearing plate or level 50 something. But details...

 

I just killed the ghosts, they aren't really that hard. One by one atleast.

Then next hat is a wizard hat! and for Drocis it includes flowing wizard robes

 

That would be an amazing quest that I would gladly spend all release on "testing".

 

Like the Dalai Lama himself. The flowing robes, grace, bald ...... striking.

 

The quest is hell this release. It's annoying, definitely not fun. (I do them because I like collecting things)
These quests are temporary, so I agree they should be made easier as to not feel like a chore. I don't mind a challenge, but leave that for the story when the game is released.

 

The quest was definitely a challenge for me. Especially the ghosts. I do wear plate, but do the ghosts care, well no of course not, they'll drain the he(( out of you anyway I have no magic. I do have heal which is pretty useless this release. I am not big on healing for warriors, no bandaids are in the game, *sighs* or warrior moves that will occasionally give a bit of a heal burst if planned correctly, but that is another subject since I digress. I am struggling so far with fighting in R22 even against regular skeletons, but hanging in there to work on it more.

In some ways I like that the quest challenged me to think and then again there was the frustration until Bam I got to live long enough to get the tour guide. Pretty normal experience in a single player offline game so I won't complain too much and I think it is ultimately a good way to go to challenge us. We are dealing with more than one factor against us at the moment with still combat imbalance, learning curves, armor and weapon dmg issues and on and on. Which is kind of a crazy place to be but that is game development for you and we will survive

 

this is not a challenge .
those mines are just hard .
so far i have died like 10 times to those gosts .
have the dev been playing dark souls ?

 

i understand its in dev .
those quest are suposed to give us a tour to the new ereas and such thy have creatid .
not force us to do a deadrun over and over again the hopes of reaching a npc .

 

olso good luck finding that ank at the ladder .
yes it is there but for some reason wen i die in those mines its to dark to see anything once i go past the spot i died at .
