Elf Archer image revealed on Ten Ton Hammer

Still absorbing the entire article, which I posted about here, but a new image has been revealed of the Elf Archer. Check it out:

I hate how ten ton hammer get's this before the Dev+ community.

 

Meh, he's pissed cause the Obsidians created him and then dumped him on the side of the road.

 

You have to guarantee the media exclusive screenshots or art, or they won't give you nice coverage.

 

An abomination constructed as a tool for war.

I would probably not be too happy about it either.

 

The Dev+ community shouldn't exclude it from being exclusive. We are part of the "development" are we not?

 

At least the elf has a Sharingan. And did anyone see those calves? Holy *&%#.

 

Things posted to Dev+ area are not to be shared outside of those areas, thus it would not be breaching media exclusivity. Even releasing the pics to Dev+ the same day the TenTonHammer article is set to release would be better. -.-

 

Yep, I was just going to comment on that. Those calves are absolutely huge. I wonder what advantage it gives them to sprinting and jumping!

 

How come he has Oracle eyes...

 

Maybe the Oracle has *his* eyes.

 

I hope they are not forced to wear helmets in battles ... the ears! I like the ears, pointy and long

 

This article really excites me. I have no ability to draw or model, so I couldn't contribute crowd-sourced art assets, but I wanted to see if there was some way to contribute writing to the game. And today I read this:

 

It would be nice to throw a bone like the elf image to the Dev+ community every once in a while. The way it stands now we only get the occasional poll, or PotA concept art.

 

Looks like a Romulan crossed with a Cardassian.

 

Very cool looking; I'd like to see the armor as darker though, to be more in line with the origins of the race.

 

I'm wondering to what degree you can reference the Ultima games without getting in trouble. Maybe if the reference is vague enough.

 

I was thinking this was the reason they would outsource the back story as fan fiction, to avoid copyright issues.

However if they intend to add some of the stories into the game itself, well that changes things a bit I agree.

 

As we have learned, exclusive does not mean exclusive around here....

 

Obviously, they have to be careful for the copyright agreements. Basically, the knowledge and history of Britannia were essentially wiped out in the Fall, which is why even Avatars are barely spoken of in hushed legend and awe. I'm sure they'd review stuff to make sure it conforms to their standards, but it still leaves a lot of room for nuance and indirect references, even if they would not be recognized by the people of New Britannia as we would.
