You can believe what you want.
Have you logged on SoTA lately? There are hundreds of players that I see. Yet Steam only shows a couple hundred and I doubt I saw EVERYONE who has played.
SoTA is going to be the most massive game in history when they launch. Mark my words, it is going to make history. I bet we get over a million players in the first 6 weeks of launch.

    Thats simply not true.
Even port isnt claiming to have that many.
    Stop spreading false information.

Or better yet. Fund ports legal case against steam then? They can tell indtsntly if steam was lieing.

This is from an articles dated yesterday from PC Gaming.

Still, in its risks and disclosures section, the company also said that even with a successful campaign, Portalarium would likely have to seek more money for the launch, and there is a risk that money won’t materialize.

So even after you buy into this company Portalarium states there is a possibility that they will need more funds to launch the game.

    Here is the link.

Take it for what you will.

What bothers me the most about your suggestion, is that I can not say this will never happen.

You may have misread. I am not saying they have millions of players, but they WILL have millions and millions of players.

If they did this, then it would be the best quests EVER. Think how hard they would try and how great they would be if they were sold for $$$. They would be amazing and worth it!!!!

Let's hope the July Ep1 Story release comes with a Reset of the Journal -
mine is messed up - and that you then can play through this story without to grind.

    I doubt it.

Side question, whose alt account is this? 22 posts and most in the thread. You could be an ardent defender that has remained quiet all this time and finally got pushed over the edge but there is a simpler solution.

Want to add, thats you want to visit the most interesting and unique scenes connected to the Lore you have to be "consensual" with PvP, because these scenes are MP-PvP only scenes (and thats bullshit).

All i have to say is they need to get rid of that grind.

The fact that people grind everything make the game an asia grinder instead of a rich story RPG by Richard Gariott.

All you read in the Forums, lets say 95% is about min max grind.

There is nothing about exploration or discovery, there is nothing about real consequences like guards attack you if you are red.

I want things to discover and i want all reds beeing attacked by guards.

I think there's still allot more too SOTA than is lead to believe within some of the article.
Good deeper information is very difficult to find at times with our forums as thread heavy as they are.

Single player games are dead and really don't exist anymore. Not in the true sense. They just aren't available anymore. Show me one! A real one!
Which is why I don't understand why SoTA wants to keep trying to be a single player game. It's like going back to the horse and buggy when we have cars.

Come on people wake up! Hello!?

And to go back to the original OP, Portalarium has been spending what they earn each month, but if they ran into a hiccup they can just stop spending as much and wait it out. They have 2 months to float on and that isn't as bad as it sounds. They can hit another telethon if they really needed to!

I am confused. What do you define as a "true" single-player game?
Are Skyrim, The Witcher 3, Pillars of Eternity, Prey, Torment: Tides of Numenera not single-player games?

Mario is one. A good one.

Those other games were just bad games.

I don't think your expectations are too high. I understand where you are coming from. One thing I see is that they are not working on the offline right now and especially when they do it is with half-hearted attempts to appease those offline investors in this game imo. It would be more honorable if they say that when they get to a time when they can focus on the offline game they will make it fantastic for you. It should have all the quality expected of a Richard Garriott offline game. I did not pledge Lord Marshal pledge for offline but I expect this level of quality for both offline and online. I have enjoyed many offline RPGs immensely but once I've played them I am usually done, but that is just me. So I am fighting for offline and online. We want it all.
