People may have bought store items and wish they had other ones - now they can convert them to credits and purchase what they would like.

    Hi crafty,
I was thinking the same thing! I've been hearing about 'melting down' items for months now.

But being old, slow, and somewhat stoopid, the only recent meltdown I'm aware of was at Fukushima a few years back. I would love to see a simple, clear explanation of exactly what this cryptic term means and how to take advantage of it--for example, I have a 5 story row basement I don't need. How, exactly, do I 'melt down' this item?

I noticed there were some times mentioned in the OP. Does this mean I need to log onto the SotA site at exactly these times. This would be unfortunate as I'm in Europe, and 7pm CST is about 2am my time. I think I'll just keep the silly basement rather than try to get my ass out of bed in the middle of the night.

    Hoping for clarity,
    Cornfellow

The times are when the dev-team resets the "Claimed in game" flags.

All you need to do is *not* enter the game after that point, since doing so will set the flags again.

You can Convert, Gift, whatever for however long you want after that point... As long as you don't login in to the game itself. :)

You go to your account page, then click the add-on tab, and next to each item if it doesn't say "claimed-in-game" you can generally either send it as a gift or convert to credits on a per item basis

Note this only works for store add-ons, it is not for rewards that come from your base pledge.

    Just a note here.
This isn't an I game wipe. Instead it is the reset of the "claimed in game" flag in the database.

So all the things purchased in the addon store, when you log in to the game server, gets claimed in game.
But after a reset, but before login to the game server, you can go to your SotA site account. After all addon items you will now have "Convert to Credit" an "Gift" buttons. For stretch goal / DarkStarr reward items only the "Gift" button is there.
This gives a window of opportunity for the Player Marketplace.

'Melting' is just a different way of saying "Convert to Credits".
With credits you can upgrade your pledge or purchase addon store items.

Please refer to the FAQ on the SotA site main page for further info.

i plugged one of the previous dates into a website and I got this information

    Phoenix (U.S.A. - Arizona) Wednesday, 27 January 2016 at 10:03:50 AM MST UTC-7 hours
Sydney (Australia - New South Wales) Thursday, 28 January 2016 at 4:03:50 AM AEDT UTC+11 hours

The thing of note is that my time for Phoenix says 'MST' and not 'CST'. Is this different? Is there daylight savings there? Is Phoenix nowhere near 'CST''

Arizona is Mountain Standard Time (GMT -7), but we never switch to Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), which puts us 2 hours behind CDT (GMT -5) in the summer.

    It's a beautiful thing. I love it.

    @DarkStarr

It would be nice if you offered some windows for this before R29's wipe.
