    I certainly hope this is not the case, if they are creating infinite land "hexes" for player housing that doesn't exist in a mainland map.

    No, its its own Metropolis. As Slum-City is now, it will be x2 citys:
    A upper met'trp
    Another lower Met'trp.... the plan, if it can be done, Above ground level NO PVP. Underground, PvP flag. Not sure if that is possible at this time.
    Both with full house placing ability.
    Another 'weak' maybe, a custom designed house for placing underground. If that dont happen, i will use a 2 story row, stone.
    I feel that look would work underground. Basements, who knows? That would add good space to them for sure.

    This is really cool! The SLUM idea is really EPIC too...I wonder if they will make options like this for all of our towns...I have ideas for my town that are not currently in game but was going to submit with my map plan once the time comes...Like my ice fishing idea!

    Like Dark said plainly in his Last Dev chat, ask away! Right when i heard that, i knew he opened a can of worms with me! ;}

    To be honest, i thought the idea had a snowballs chance in **ll! I was wrong!

    Moral of the story, think it, offer it up, then build it. I like the ice fishing idea, put some shacks on a lake! That requires house placement on water/ice.
    Hint: If they agree to place them underground, the idea of on a ice lake prob. wont hurt to much! Run with it! Good luck!

    Ok so it doesn't look like you have all the answers yet regarding implementation?

    - Will upper city houses have basements? One would assume so....
    - If they have basements, how will that affect the lower city? Does that mean the lower city sits even lower underground, beneath upwards of 5-level basements?
    - Will lower city houses have basements? One would assume so...
    - If the above is true, that would mean the underground catacombs is even deeper than this and lies under this lower level city
    - Is the only entry into the lower city via the upper city? Meaning, no other connections between other lower cities that might exist?

    Did you discuss those things with DarkStarr?

    I will add what I THINK could be done...

    If there is a techincal issue with basements on the upper level lots, just move the SLUM CITY from under it. Its underground anyway.
    I would prefer to have the Slum section access only from one point. Through the upper city. Tunnel?
    I would prefer Basements on both levels, but i can live without them in the SLUMS.

    Well, guess we'll have to wait for the official word on how underground cities would work. I had always assumed any underground housing would be part of the underground catacombs system which they've talked about before, so I thought this would simply be a player-owned portion of the catacombs -- much like a player owned hex on the overland map. But maybe this is something different...

    I love the idea! I have been finding lately that there just seems to be too much clean living around here, no true evil and our lands just don't seem dirty enough. This could become a Portalarium sponsored place where the necromancers, cut throats and thieves hang out. This could also become a place of charity where compassion could be expressed or lack of it.
    I'm so happy to see these types of things come out because they will add the lacking amount of balance around here... so it get's 2 thumbs up from me !:eek:!

    See, that is where I have a big problem*. There should be at least a sense of limited space for player towns and housing. I think linked up player town hexes are fine but only if that means all hexes of a player town exist and can also be entered on the mainland map.....or catacomb map if there is one.

    *Let it be noted that I completely support SLUM and any player town that is embracing the endless PvP possibilities that Portalarium has unleashed.
