Restructuring the official Forum

I noticed there are lots of russian players , very active ingame ... i would have thought you would be at top of the list to get a dedicated forum section ..very surprising . Hope they reconsider.

I hope so! After years of using these forums it would be sad if they were forced to another website and forums. I like it being a player choice.

 

My problem as with any game is the "General Discussions". This typically is way more then 50% of the total discussions. I'd like to see more categories. I'd like one called "Builds" or "Class Builds" or "Avatar Builds" any sort of alike name where people can post their builds such as Death Knight.

Maybe another for "Quests" as i am completely lost doing any quests in this game and frankly i'm frustrated to no end. And no i don't think this should be a part of "New player welcome". And no i don't want to be told to use this link and goto some other website. However "Spoiler Alert" tags should be strictly enforced.

Maybe another called "Player Help Corner" for the people that will be lost at the beginning of the game. I'm still in that category btw. And again no to "New player welcome".

Maybe a few others that are helpful to playing the game. Hate having to use search to find something that should be readily available and is instead on page 185 in the general category.

 

We have player created resources where all this is put out by player

In there is also quests and a post by a player covering them all

We have a whole section of the community called hospitalers who have a web site, and MANY posts here talking about anything you could want

 

Player created "resources" tbh is unappealing to me. I can't find the "quests and a post by a player covering them all" Is this on page 200?

Hospitalers; And you're pointing out what i didn't want pointed out. And that's to be pointed to another site. Which btw i just checked out and it instead points me to another site. Arg, so frustrating.

Not anybody's fault, it's just the way it is. But more separation, maybe more subcategories to help find stuff easier. Just my thoughts.

i do agree that all countries sota offers localization for should be represented on the official forums. i don't understand but would like to, @Berek. Russians joined us in Obsidius last night, during my radio broadcast and it was awesome! It would be nice if they had a home here too.

 

@Berek when they reorg the forums, can we please close the old bug threads? cos people are replying to stuff as far back as release 4x rather than posting somewhere useful

Forum reorganization completed! We've made a few additional changes from the OP's post, they are:

- Removed Early Access mentions
- Better separated out discussions into two primary categories: Game and Community
- Moved Dev+ section into the 'Developer Depot'
- Created a temporary "Coming Soon" language section
- Archived a few outdated posts
- Pinned/unpinned some posts

Additional archiving and tweaking of individual sections may continue as your feedback comes up. This includes us moving previous language posts to the appropriate language forums when those go live.

 

@Cerus and @Berek can we please get the feedback archives locked so people aren’t replying to old threads. They are still using the wrong place to post bugs

 

Bit of a mystery how someone can not know it's an archive, but done .

 

it looks like you renamed them archives. that will not stop the problem, especially when people are responding to old posts they've found through search. they really do need there as a reference, but locked.

Given that town sizes and stats are now removed from the website, where can players go to see the NPC limits/lights/decoration counts per town size?

I see them in the Player Instructions document. Never mind.

@Berek - The Player Instructions document is missing the square footage allowed for lots. Being able to see how many village lots a given POT size holds would be useful to have in the same spot.

 

It is a bit sad to me if old threads are made unavailable. There were some great ideas that deserve re-visiting at appropriate times such as the fishing ideas threads to get fishing updated. If locking these threads is not what is happening then my bad. We have a great history here I don't want to lose it just because a thread is old does not mean its not relevant.

 

locked doesn't mean invisible. it just means people can't reply to them.
