    Oh goodness.
Well at least there are still 5.8% of people out there that know what a good mmo should look like.

The fact that it's in the top 11 choices at all says a lot. Especially considering it's not strictly-speaking an MMO, either.
(not trying to stir up debate, but I'm sure we can all agree that whether or not you can call SotA an MMO, the extra play modes definitely make it somewhat unique among its peers).

Looking at the others on that list, particularly the leading ones... I still have no regrets buying-into SotA.

It seems in 2013, when SotA was The Best Indie MMO of E3, there were more people agree with us.

Sadly, Sota has fallen off the radar this last year for gamers and on gaming sites. This last year with having so much negative reviews and word of mouth about the game isn't helping. :( Sota/Portalarium is going to have to work really hard to gain recognition from gamers, for their money and awards to prove the negativity wrong. One way to turn it around is to work hard this next year to produce a solid, fun, entertaining, game that appeals to a broad range of players. I'm hoping for a huge success. Here's to hoping 2016 is better than 2015, and here's to producing a successful game. *raises a glass of wine* :)

Well R27 hits right before PAX South so maybe it can get some exposure there, and people can see something newer than nine months old info about SotA.

Why is it listed as an MMO instead of an RPG?

Because it is. At least until offline goes live for testing in March (crosses fingers and hopes for awesomeness).

They need to make a category for selective multiplayer. SotA would be uncontested for #1.

Black Desert Online is the most voted? That explains many things.

    Explain, just curious.

I noticed that they have PvP with a high level of penalties and they have Housing which is not for cash sale. I watched an hour of videos. I even went into the beta to test the game play. Most of my Crowfall guild is doing it to burn time. I have to admit that on the surface, it looks good, real crazy good.

I'll just say that I think it's pretty good that SOTA is on seventh place considering how the game has been "delayed" for like a year. It's hard to sustain momentum/hype especially for a small, indie project.

I admit I know nothing of their PVP; maybe it's great, I don't know.
And sure the game has beautiful graphics, but that's all the good I can say about it.

I was not registered, and did not really want to be, but after I looked up the other 10 games listed, I did it anyway so I could vote. They could not get me to play most of those other games if they offered to pay me. FYI, Shroud of the Avatar is up to 6.2% now.

Albion Online moved to the top.
    A Full Loot Game

For me personally a confirmstion that i am correct - today MMO amers are not the same as 1997.
Back then they needid hand holding and the creation of trammel.

But today they know how to play. The mass is far more capable and skilled then 1997.
    they want more demanding games.

    ARK has surpassed GTA 5!
    Again a survival!

So we have a Full Loot Game as "most anticipated" MMO and Survival Games still most played.
    ( not even mentioning Minecraft)

    The facts are out there.

Undoubtedly, PvP MMO are very popular.

On another side, here's an answer I just had on Albion Online forum.

As a former backer of SOTA at the Lord pledge level and a fan of Richard Garriott, I sold my account due to lack of confidence in Portalarium and the awful direction that game has taken. I watched in horror as the hybrid Ultima/UO I was told I was getting devolved into a glorified chat room with tiny instances and power given to those who hold the highest pledges.
Years later there still is no single player "Ultima" and the online part of the game is NOTHING like UO. It's one step away from being vaporware. I'd steer clear.
