Yes. I often get hung up on the bridge next to Owl's Head.

I love the improvements of the overworld map.

I have a different opinion on the move Speed - i love that we now have different Walking Speed.
I hated that it does not make a difference if you walk through the mountains or on the street.

And for me the Speed you give us decides how big a world feels.
The sice of the world has 2 factors - how big you make it and how fast you make us travel.
And last but not least - it will give horses a reason to exist - walk slow - purchase a horse - walk faster.

So i am happy that we are slow now in the Woods and off the roads.

I've reported that bridge being "in the way" as a bug since r10.
    Will do again in r12...

We are making a slight increase in movements speed (but still not as fast as it used to be)

Place a random Encounter on the Bridge -

A Person will ask you to pay ransom to pass it.

    Fight or Kill him.

    Grin.

Glad to hear. There needs to be some kind of decent travel time especially when mountains/hills etc to make the terrain worth while.

Person ? :> It needs to be trolls! And you need a chance to be able to sneak by them.

Plus there need to be dead billygoat remains beneath the bridge.

One thing I was wondering about was if there could be a more limited range of visibility on the World map?

My example is that when going in the Forested areas there is a element of darkness present but your view far away is still clear?

I think it would be more like a old Ultima game if the effect was perhaps reversed? I think it would be help the World map immensely and be more like a classic Ultima.

Forests would obviously be restrictive and being surrounded by mountains would cut off view in that direction.. Think it is doable?

New map is great. I like the speed of travel. When off road the slow down in a forest makes it feels as if the going is slow and tough. Nice work!

Sorry, just don't agree. I suppose you can use the gates to travel.

Gates don't go everywhere including, for example, most of the quest areas.

I can understand the need for fast travel but this can culminate in a total lack of exploration. People want to get their rewards as fast as possible, therefore there is no time to walk around in the world when you could use the time to gather something, kill something, craft something, decorate your home etc. The browsergame Shakes & Fidget shows how this can end. In the end you do not travel around anymore at all but get to the area you want to go instantly. The game is reduced to its basics and everything else is cut.

I'm all for exploration. Just don't want to be stuck in molasses while I'm running around the swamp or the forest. Everyone is different, but the slowdown adds nothing, and detracts a little from the overland map experience. I understand others think differently.

Just make everything a constant speed instead of this farcical slowdown to try to immerse us.

Speed on the roads isn't bad now.

This green fog on the overland map is really strange. I always have the feeling of walking around in some poisonous gas...
