Farewell Stephen Daniele, you will be missed.

@Joviex - Some confusion and concern is entirely understandable when community members indirectly learn about "...shifts of major contributors." However, as an employer and contractor, Portalarium must adhere to certain employee/contractor confidentiality requirements. We are not always at liberty to publicly broadcast when, or the nature of, major shifts in the role of an employee or contractor. If, after an indeterminate period of time, an individual (either as employee or contractor) has not made any contributions to the project, we may publicly flag their status as "Inactive" on the team web page. If we expect to continue needing (and receiving) their services in the near-term, even if only sporadically, we will leave their status as active.

Thanks Stephen for all the incredible work to date. It feels like just yesterday when in a sleep-deprived state, you finished off the impromptu sketch of that "happy little squirrel" overlooking the firework-lit city during the final hours of the Kickstarter... not to mention many inspired sketches that day.

As Smack mentioned, there "are still some 70+ unique towns or dungeons that haven't even been designed yet, along with all the monsters, buildings, gear, etc that goes with that". We all hope to see you involved with the major pieces here, at the very least. It would be nice to have a bit of continuity to the look/feel throughout the world for Episode 1.

I don't know why we have to wish him farewell, it sounds like he is on sabatical and will be here sometimes still doing things for the game. I would rather wish him the best and of course I would always wish for him to be back on our team full time. I hate to say goodbye. **sighs** It was so hard to deal with the farewells to rustic dragon and now Stephen, so hopefully they are still around. **cheers everyone**

I totally agree! Some of this thread reads like he has died or something. He's still around and hopefully we will see him again. But in keeping with the dramatics of this thread: *Montaigne lets out a blood-curdling scream as he learns of Stephen's dreadful demise. In one swift movement of his muscular arm, he flings his lacy white handkerchief towards the heavens, and screams in high pitch falsetto "why god, why! There was still plenty of lead left in his pencil!"*

 

Wait! Don't do anything rash... give him a raise in pay (take it from the + $5M funds) and get him started on the next installment! Time's-a-waste'n!
That way the franchise doesn't have to fall behind even longer. Think ahead people!
He could, as an example, start with the new Undead player model...
