What is a Trammie? As a new player to the Ultima series, I would like to know why this term is put in a disparaging way by yourself?

So this idea (of changing one simple rule) is put down by PVE'rs and apparently certain types of PVPers.. strange! :)

People who get offended by the term "trammy" are Absolute trammies!

But the worse part is that they pretend to not know what a trammy means, that makes then even trammier!!!

As much as I would say "deal with it" to all the PvPers out there, the idea that PvPers can get ambushed by people that the game specifically labeled as "safe" leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth. Since went are PvEers potential gankers?

Except that some people (like myself) don't !@!#$ know what it's about and that the original comment can be read as if it's a derogatory term... and your own comment also gives that connotation... so...

It's a UO term. The servers were split into two, Trammel and Felucca. The trammel side was the non-pvp side and the people that went there were called "trammies" as an insult by people that thought they were cool.

The point of my thread was to help highlight the issue, I've seen this issue many times in the past come up and the arguments on both sides. The problem that comes from this idea, is that a lot of people (perhaps the trammies and fellucies?) want things separated more than together. This is what I understood actually killed UO..? We have to bring both ideas together, and currently the ruleset for PVP does allow Felucca behavior from the so-called blues. I think I have my terminology correct? :)

We want more people to play, don't we? Or do you want to keep supporting a split community? That will lead to the demise of this game as well. I don't want to see that.

The problem is as old as the genre.
In general one might say, If you flag yourself for pvp or enter a pvp area, you understand and accept the possible consequences. Whatever those might be. Including beeing free for all whereever you go.
However, I Agree that there should atleast be some kind of consequence for non flagged players jumping someone or worse yet interfering in an ongoing fight. (Like factions in uo before it finally got fixed)

Bottomline though, If anyone gets angry or feels bad for beeing killed, it might be best not to be flagged in the first place.

We want PvP and a lot of people in !

This is the problem, poeple will not be flagged with this stupid rule.

PvE-ers should have consequence for their actions.

To me, this is a necessary mechanic. (while also being a complete albatross)

Should be more of a penalty for flagging on PvP'ers in open world to gank. Say a 72 hour flag, not just a 'leave the scene' un-flag.
Problem is w/the number of pure PvErs we have they need heals and res's when in dungeons. They shouldn't be forced into a 72 hr situation. They should un-flag when leaving the dungeon.

It's the 'having ones cake and eating it too' scenario.

So what we are left with is PvPers having to be on their toes (almost as if it were open PvP), and PvPers can participate in dungeons and PvE content w/those folks and enjoy that.

All that being said, ya wanna flag on me then feel free, bet that I'm walking around w/stacks though. ;)
