Lot Selection Sequencing: Date of Pledge also a factor

Lot Selection Sequencing will now have date of pledge factored in. The FAQ has been updated to reflect this.

When can I choose my lot?
First priority will be given to backers for lot choice. The order will be determined by date and amount of pledge with Founders getting priority over Benefactors at each tier. Backers will be given an exclusive window to choose their lots. Each backer can choose exactly one lot during the window. The next window will be given to those who purchase lots from the Add-On Store. After that window, lot choice will be open to all players.

I am a benefactor original pledge date of 21 may 2013. If I upgrade today to founder do I maintain the original date?

Yes date will be based on your oldest pledge

 

question:

within a tier, does dollar amount count? in other words is a $900 knight pledge come before an $800?

and if so, does dollar amount within a tier trump pledge date? in other words, if i pledged as an $800 founder knight on day 1, will someone who pledged as a $900 founder knight later get priority?

 

My pledge date on my account info doesn't match my Kickstarter pledge date. Will the pledge dates in kickstarter be used?

Should be the time stamp of when Portalarium received your very first payment, I would imagine.

 

The intent of adding date to the sequencing is to make certain that those who pledged before May 20, 2013 will get priority over those who pledged after. Any granularity beyond that is yet to be determined.

Question:

I am a Lord Founder, during the backers lot selection will I be allowed to chose a Village spot instead of a Town lot if I so choose? Of course the village spot that I purchased from the store will not be a tax free one. I would still want my town plot to be tax free I am just giving up the chance to pick the town plot first. I take it this will only work as a step down, I don't see it being fair for a Lord Founder being able to place a City plot, but since a village plot is a step down I think no one would have a problem with that.

I was wondering how the the sudden influx of nouveau founders would be defused.

 

Are the lots going to be chosen by running around and grabbing, or are we using a map feature?

Nevermind, either it has been corrected or I was hallucinating. Looks correct to me now.

 

I would suggest all village lots is done first, in waves. That way can 'better lots' get a better feeling if the surrounding fits them.

 

Only issue is higher level pledges can place on village lots if they desire, so if there are some really nice village lots out there a lord or higher might want one over an inferior located town or city for baron+.

 

In terms of location, you can only ever speculate what will be popular and what won't. It will be several weeks into the official launch before you get a feel for where people hangout.

 

I'm also wondering how we will be getting to these locations. Was it said yet whether this is before or after launch? Will all new characters be starting in one corner of the map and there won't be a way to even get to other locations until we progress in skill or story? So will we all be claiming lots in the same part of the map at first (and perhaps racing through the game to progress to other "better" areas after the initial placement period?) *scratches head*
