Greetings Avatars! The purpose of this post is to keep an active alphabetical directory of current player owned towns in the game.

I will insert the date of the entry and 1 year following its insertion, it will be removed unless someone bumps the thread asking their date be refreshed (claiming still active) or info be altered. Hopefully this concept can be replaced by tech at some point, but for now, I'm happy to provide. I'll also be using this list to provide short spotlights of towns throughout New Britannia -- hope you find this useful!

Simply reply to this thread with the following information:

    Beran’s Reach
    (updated 2020-4-11)
Situated a short distance north of Britanny just off the coast of Regalis, Beran’s Reach has established a reputation as a cosmopolitan Megalopolis that is open to all, regardless of guild or affiliation. Arguably one of the finest examples of a walled city, ‘the Reach’ as it is commonly known has a rich history established over many years of growth and planning. Well-situated with ample space for shops, guilds and homes of all sizes and with all plots open for claim, the Megalopolis provides near-limitless opportunities for anyone simply seeking a home or to make a name for themselves. Its civic areas, parks, devotionals castle-sized central market and the near-legendary Bear Tavern are open to all, for the good of the community. With plans to fill the Megalopolis and establish itself as a regional hub, The Reach is seeking new residents to expand its dedicated community. Caladruin

    (updated 2020-4-13)
Founded May 479 PC, Caladruin stands as the last beacon of hope for weary travelers on the coast of the western isle of Mistrendur. Meaning the 'burning light' in an ancient tongue, it was named for the fiery glow that had once shined so brightly amidst its standing stones. While the ancient fires may have faded, Caladruin's fortress remains, a bastion of truth, love, and courage standing against the forces of darkness upon the land. Come traveler, take up arms along side Caladruin's valiant defenders, or simply stay and rest a while. And perhaps you too may yet see light dancing amidst that ring of stones... || More Information || Contact @Lord Aventine

    The Clockworks
    (updated 2020-6-9)
This is a free and open market town. Show up, claim a row lot anywhere, and sell your goodies. There will be a backstory about it soon. The theme is generally Steampunk and will decorate more in that direction over time. Features of note: 1) Clocks!!!! 2) Very close to the Cross-Continent Galleon in Mistrendur 3) Complete set of Expert Crafting Stations +5 available to the public at the entrance 4) Interesting Town Links (Soltown, Festival, the ominous Crematorium...) 5) "Fair Launch" To explain "Fair Launch", I have not teamed up with any other in-game merchants, guilds, or otherwise manipulated the "top spots" to place in any way. So right now as of this posting, the only claimed lot is for the crafting stations in front. So, if you come and get a spot now, you might get that dream spot you've been hoping for… Enjoy your Capital Connections at the Clockworks! || Contact @Datendrache

    The Crematorium
    (updated 2020-6-9)
Located in the Southern Island of Mistrendur at the edge of the dark forest. It is a very specialized Player Owned Town that all players are invited to visit and participate in. Conversationalists explore concepts from the Ultima and other Richard Garriott works in relation to Shroud of the Avatar. While not trying to replace or change canon, it raises questions about the SotA Universe (i.e., Who is the Oracle? What magic is contained in the Shards? Are there characters that haven't yet been introduced?) and hints at possible answers. || More Information || Contact @Datendrache

    Crystal Cove
    (updated 2020-3-3)
Crystal Cove is a coastal town where Scooby-Doo and the gang live. Residents believe that the town has a long history of paranormal activity and legendary monsters for proof. These mysteries and the resulting hysteria fuel Crystal Cove's local economy through tourism and its residents. There are also many available lots for all players to move in and become part of the family, if you find a spot and want a custom location contact Scooby Doo. Crystal Cove is currently nested under Ardoris and is moving to EP2 lands in 2020. || Contact @Scooby Doo or Discord: Scooby#7982

    Dragomir Mori
    (updated 2020-3-7)
Dragomir Mori means Precious Peace and All will die. Be at peace so you will be ready when your death arrives. Dragomir Mori is a quiet municipality located just outside (North) of the NPC town of Aerie. It is the home of Black Sails Pirate Ships. Our ships manned by the Black Sails pirates travel around the known world and on into the New Lands protecting the cities from the evil Obsidians. The cause was taken up by Boris Mondragon years ago and we, Black Sails, continue even in battle when necessary until our land is free of the evil and again safe and at peace. The story of many adventures of Black Sails is found on the SOTA Forum in the Fire Lotus Tavern Library for all to read. Everyone is encouraged to participate by posting from time to time in the various chapters of the story, by willingly taking pictures on occasion as we role play the story and of course fighting (PVP) in the battles. Sail your ship and make your home docked at Dragomir Mori... || More Information || Contact @CatherineRose

There is plenty of space to build your own home or farm to your desire. The outpost is in active construction - please inquire if you have any special requests. Festival
    (updated 2020-4-14)
Located next to the Mistrendur galleon, Festival is a renown player owned town that is best known for its... shenanigans. Purchased from a distraught old baron by a shady miner, the new Governor was mostly concerned about livening the old town up a little. Festival is home to three of SotA's most famous museums (The Zeitgeist Library, The Festival Museum, and the Conservatory), Alphaine Nine's Friday Fight Night Arena, and many other entertaining player made attractions (Alphaine Nine's Dojo, Hemswal Genis's fortress, The Whyte Roc Embassy, The Runner-Up Entry in the Mt. Midir Decoration Contest, and more!) Join the fun, be entertained, and stay awhile if you'd like at any of the open lot accommodations! || More Information || Even More Information || Contact @Datendrache

    Immortal City
    (updated 2020-2-13)
Immortals roam the universe populating far away civilizations in spacetime, notably Naboo in a galaxy and time far, far away but communication has stopped for quite a long time with them. In Mistrendur, two Immortals have remained to guard their island city from the scourge that is "The Oracle." She will never wrap her tentacle-like appendages around their home as she has done with most of Novia. There is no "Oracle Hut of Judgement" anywhere in Immortal City. There are no "watchers" poking around people's lives. No horrific eyes following people's every move. The very idea, to Immortals, is incredulous. Immortal City is the remote island where Dragons come from and they will visit their home from time to time. Fear not, they are our kin and keepers of peace. Hostile dragons are those that have been poisoned by the Oracle and summarily banished. Our island city is an ancient place just recently discovered by the newcomer Avatars from Earth. Avatars are free in Immortal City... || More Information || Contact @Alleine Dragonfyre or Drizzet Dragonfyre in-game

    Knightmare Falls
    (updated 2020-5-26)
Up ahead, a forgotten little town eagerly awaits welcoming lights to dust off the mystery of what once was a striving village of commerce and connection. The vendors still hawk their wares to smaller crowds but the community is what grows. The pavilion is still active and the establishment offers the guidance of all the virtues in these dark times. Some say the dual Knightmares look down as a offer of protection to the town. Yet as secrets are uncover, many believe they serve as warning of a more sinister history waiting to be rediscovered. || Map Location || More Info || Contact @shadowvice

    Silk Road
    (updated 2020-3-13)
"If you spend enough time in the desert, you will hear it speak."
Silk Road is a personal project whose goal is to create a narrative, story-driven 'journey across the desert' scene that will be rich in narrative and hopefully, as the NPC conversation system expands to allow so, quest lines. Everything is slowly getting setup while waiting for new "player quest" tech, so there isn't a great deal to see at this moment. I'd be interested in discussing with other town owners who are interested in being 'destinations' from Silk Road perhaps as part of an ongoing story arc. Not specifically looking for residents at this time, as the town is really not set up as a 'base of operations' (unless someone is super-keen on being part of storytelling and has an adobe-style house). || Contact @kaeshiva

    S Mart Factorium
    (updated 2020-2-5)
S Mart Factorium is near Solace Bridge. We have two primary mutually beneficial functions. One is to provide work for new Avatars coming through our town. We do this by buying their raw materials, or even components. We also provide helpful advice for new Avatars to get their crafting off on the correct foot. Sometimes we even buy finished products. At one point I had bulk order deeds going, but that program is temporarily suspended as we wait for the vendor interface to become more usable for complex operations. The second ties in with the first. We sell crafted things! You can find a four story crafted furniture display as well as an Outdoor Department, which will help you pick out what you want to craft or buy. We also maintain a stock of the most basic gear at bare bones prices. We have recently branched out to offer other departments as well, from fashion to witchcraft. || Map Location || Contact @Vladamir Begemot

    Soryn Fields

    (updated 2020-2-5)
Soryn Fields is the family home of the Soryn Family governed by Alron Soryn. The town is open to all players. If you do not have a home, we will provide a place for you live. If you do not have a vendor, we have many free vendors that you can use. What the town hopes to achieve is to bring adventurers together, to live, to trade, and to learn from each other. The town is Guild neutral, making it the perfect town for those who wish to play solo. Crafting tables can be found all over town. There are many available village lots and row lots for housing. However, the Lord of Soryn Fields decrees that all housing be non Elven, non Shogun and definitely not from hollow logs. Let me know if you have a forum post about your heraldry contest I can push/promote, I don't want to put 1 time temp adds on these entries so we're not in here editing all the time. I just put Map Location for now... I'd LOVE to get that fixed, but I think that's going to be a 2020 item to put maps back in the hands of players per the 2020 vision item. I can't wait for that because I'll be diving into maps with vigor.

I've added a new line for those interested, so I'm not listing out tons of links on this directory, especially to out-of-forums locations.

    "
Link to Main Town Forum Thread:
please provide a link to the primary forum thread you've created on the forums which can provide more details about your town."

Governors: Do make mention if your town is accepting new residents, and what process you would like new residents to follow.

Also adding a Billboard and information for new residents to your default entrance is also very helpful for people as well.

Could you also add a field: Accepting New Resident

Then they can add a simple yes or no, or a more detailed description on the process to live in the town (example: Please contact GovernorName if you wish to live in my town....).

I could then direct new players that always ask where they can live to this thread.

This may or may not be part of the scope for this thread. Just a suggestion.

I'd prefer not to put info in there that would constantly need to be updated. Having the opportunity for a link to your main detail thread could include that information. I'm already putting @name on all of them for contact info, which would be for any reason, even if just to inquire about current availability. Good input though, and there's nothing stopping folks from putting that in their description portion. I won't remove it if they do.

    Adding now.

Is there ever anything that is NPC town specific? it seems those living in NPC towns are really getting the ghost town end of the stick. A real subclass when it comes to the host of items etc only available to player towns.
