You also had to acknowledge you are entering a construction zone each time you logged in, its all part of the experience

    I agree wholeheartedly.
Especially since a known wipe will occur when pledges come out to be tested. It never fails though that some people seem to not understand prealpha, alpha, beta, and release candidates and what that implies toward levels of development, game stability, and much more. Personally I think it is a testament to the developers and Portalarium that people are lulled into a false sense of security.

I sympathize, but pre-alpha is exactly the point.

People should really divorce themselves from thinking pre-, alpha and beta are "full game" release.

Software has gotten better AND more crap over the last 20 years because of the hurried, pressured attitude to get it "out the door" and stable for people to use ASAP.

I refuse to pump out software that hasn't passed a 95% smoke test for all the knowns we have when doing a cycle.

I have yet to spend more than a couple hours of engineer resources a week on bugs (* note mostly! USER ERROR) testing in half a decade because of that.

    Cheers.

Well, with a rollback, I was hoping our neighbor junk collector might have cleared a bunch of his "items" from his yard.....but I guess your rollback and backups worked the way they are supposed to. Junk is still there.

Glad you got the opportunity to test out the system. What other type of system problem has not had an opportunity present itself to test....anything we can help with?

    btw

different between alpha and beta is that:
Alpha is a developer-inhouse testing period
beta could be a testing period at the side of the customer(s) (or if it is a testing with client/server .... then the beta testing could be establish via internet)

So .... ISTQB (internation software testing qualifications board) defines that sota would not be in prealpha state .... it should be already called in prebeta in my opinion (i guess to call it prealpha is just to be on the safe side because of the fact that a lot of features (which are part of certain milestones) are just even not started to be developed and implemented).

    AND
    @portalarium
Sota already entertained me for so many hours, that it realy could be moved to a state called prebeta - even if we will hav R99 deployments.
Compared to other so called prealpha or steam "early access" gaming software, they are really in prepreprealpha state

good job portalarium - seriously meant

All is good at Majorias house. I just have to post wonderful pictures. I am in total amazement. We can see ourselves in our own windows. This is a dream come true for me, well one of them. If you don't know how to look at yourself, here's what I do. So I just hold my right mouse and move it to looking in at myself. Sometimes you have to use the scroll wheel to zone in or out. I forgot to hit F9 to hide my bars and stuff, but just to show the amazing stuff the development team is doing, I had to share. Every release I am so amazed. Again sorry for derailing, that's me today;) I guess it's because I have to go back to work soon.:(

@ Chris, Thanks for the quick communications to the community on the matter. Most of us recognize that this happens... It’s a key learning experience going forward, when things dont go as planned.

It’s a testing phase and should be considered as such:)

Hmmm, I wonder if I can find that full set of +10 Avatar Plate armor again?;)
