White would be Carnality, purple is Dishonor.

As of R40 many of the planet shapes have changed but the color scheme and orbits are the same. I will be updating www.sotaastronomy.com this weekend with the new planets.. but their names are.. (from closets to farthest)

    Blue - Deceit
    Yellow - Despite
    Red - Dastard
    Green - Injustice
    Orange - Punishment
    Purple - Dishonor
    Black - Vanity
    White - Carnality

Unfortunately, they swapped Vanity and Carnality when they didn't need to. As is evidenced by comparing the new planets with the old moondial. It is either that or the constellations of the Ankh and Crook are out of order :p

Your student in the celestial arts has noticed the green planet and its new moon is all back to front, it seems the planet orbits the moon, or its just a really little planet and a massive moon...

    The weekend's investigations have begun.

I am camped out offline at the town of Jaanaford and screenshots are being taken every 2 minutes this time. Jaanaford is officially the town of honor. And so sieges should occur regularly every 2 'days' as Dishonor passes the Chalice. In particular, this should occur at midnight during the month of December (This Sunday). I should get some pretty strong data to prove or disprove the siege schedule is working as intended.

Devs have said during R39 that the system was incomplete.. but during the Spring Telethon Starr answered my question: To the best of your knowledge are the siege schedules working as intended. He said yes. We shall see.

Edit: Just as I turn around there is a siege at Jaanaford.. at NOON.. yet Dishonor is setting while the Chalice is rising. There shouldn't be a siege now. If only the sky were clear offline I should probably prove the system isn't working "as intended" with a single screenshot. :p Pfft may as well report it now?

I need to correct myself here. They actually DID need to swap these two.. in the list of virtues Humility comes last.. the constellations are set up this way. Not sure why I remember it being the other way around or why I didn't notice it before? :p

err.. it should be sieged anytime ANY of them pass in front of the chalice, and which it is controls which cabalist it is. ..which is how you end up with sieges with more than one cabalist, as planets temporarily traveling together pass over the same constellation.

Except that isn't how it was explained. Which was, when a planet of the opposing virtue passes the constellation of that virtue. At no point did I ever hear a dev say when ANY planet passes the constellation. Though I am more than happen to check out any thread or point in a hangout that clearly states otherwise.

Although that could explain previous data and is testable..

Edit: Ok just tested that explanation against my original Resolute data from a couple weeks ago.. and the data matches almost perfectly. So I'm going to assume what I've heard just wasn't very clear.

Does anyone think there could be a Constellation/Moon/Devotional connection within the where sieges could happen, when they do happen? Where they happen seems puzzling... possibly NPC towns with and without Oracles could be a similar connection? Combining 4 factors or more greatly complicates what would otherwise be a more simple predictable rhythm.

Our @Bowen Bloodgood found this earlier.
What of the NPC cities/towns without devotionals? (I don't think they all have them, just as all don't have Oracles either).

Ditto. Looks like avoided high level siege mobs just got harder.

    Reviving this thread.

Are the planetary bodies/stars/sieges finally in synch? And if so - do the moondials (now available in the addon store) show the star/planet positions accurately?

Siege schedules have been working for some time.. and yes the moondials are accurate provided they are placed in a scene with a skydome. (They are not currently accurate when placed in basements as they share data with the sky dome)

That's very good news! I hope to have a desktop moondial as additional deco and it's nice to know that it would be fully functional at this point.

Unfortunately, a moondial app will likely have to come from the community though I think it's completely doable. Would like to see stuff like that myself.
