Love the idea! There is a crafted version of the smaller one.

Oh didn't know that ;) We need one we can fit on the front of buildings and match the style like in those last two examples ;) Generally I'm thinking village home, but we could even have one that could fit in the space in front of a row home.

    THIS.
What exactly is the devs' position on "building block" units in the future? I don't mean full Lego-style walls and floor tiles and such, but simpler structures like those shelters and other items that can be combined on a lot to create a larger complex? If I want to build ruins, I currently have three different prefab styles, and a crumbling arch to play with. I'd love some crumbling wall sections, pillars, etc. that I could plop around (not those granite block things, they look too boring and regular, even when you get grandiose with placement and stacking) to design my own layouts. They don't need to snap or connect, but it would give me some variety. I realize there's way more important things to take care of first, so I'm not expecting things like that any time soon, but after launch? Has anything been said?

Modular housing. ;) Not piece by piece like with stone blocks, but combinable structures, like you say.

I should have been more clear about this being sarcasm.

I did not respond because I did not suggest that and I figured you being sarcastic.

Yes... evidently one must flag sarcasm very very clearly or risk having your thread closed by overzealous moderation.

This is capitalism hurting you, not the game.

Capitalism is an unpredictable amalgamation of desire and greed which at it's core is totally made up collectively. Because of that, it is rubbish as an ethical justification, measure of progress, signifier of virtue. Similarly, it's unreasonable to assign responsibility for maintaining fairness in a system with such arbitrary and unknown behaviors.

    True that! Guilty as charged!!!

In fact, I loath RMT altogether, as my post history will show. But I am trying to work with the cards I am dealt rather than quitting. The irony is I would not be sad if every home started being sold for $1 just to kill RMT. But that is not where we are at. I am forced to play this game under it's terms, so i just want to understand what the terms are exactly.

In every day life, people continually improve. However, in a production pipeline such as this, there should be a clear artistic goal set before any art is ever created. Once the clear artistic goal is approved, it should then be communicated to the artists via varying means, such as a style guide.

Once the style guide has been disseminated, the art style should match that for the entire duration of the project. It should not increase or decrease in detail or quality - otherwise, you end up with either

    A) an extremely uneven level of artistic style and quality, which results in an overall reduction of production value, OR
    B) a situation where the development team is continually chasing their own tail as they spend valuable time and money rebuilding old assets to match the quality of the new assets.

    Or both.

No, capitalism is private ownership of the means of production. Desire and greed are desire and greed, and exist independently.

Beside the philosophy of capitalism or democratic socialism or apples and oranges,
I think there is an important point:

A lot of things are now inside bundles. And the idea of upgrading is a good one.
May be this idea should be here from beginning, unfortunately it wasn't.

So if I want a (few) new good looking item,

    1. I have to buy the NEW item paying again for another design ...

Solution could be --> upgrade price or a kind of "PATTERN" for less money?

    Two examples:
1 story row house BASIC price
pattern for kobold style, pattern for japanese style, pattern for elven style, pattern for ...

    moondial BASIC price
pattern for darkstar moondial, pattern for lord british moondial, pattern for ...
So I pay the basic price and only need a pattern to change the design, if I like another more :)

    2. I have to buy the whole bundle because of some parts I want to have.

Buying a bundle, there is no deduction for these things we bought before.

    For example: prosperity tools.
Why should I buy/pay them again? Why not receiving a price reduction instead, when choosing a bundle?

Solution could be --> INDIVIDUAL bundle:
choosing by clicking checkboxes and receiving my individual price for the stuff I really want/need now :)
(may be a minimum of 4 or 5)

This would be a great way to receive a tax free lot deed without paying for a lot of stuff, I don't want to have.
(may be you're a crafter and built a house by your own?)

Okay, it's not easy. May be the bundles will get more flexibility in future.

And what about an early backer %-reduction depending on the title?
(or PATTERN only for early backers???)

Please forgive typing errors - it's very late - and I am very tired ...

    my two patterns ... cents ... ;)

The whole point of selling bundles is to get you to buy stuff you wouldn't ordinarily buy. The discount is the bait. Exclusive items like prosperity tools are the bait too.

If you want to get individual items, other than the bundle exclusives (is there just one or two?), you can do that in the store or with cotos.

Not to mention the tax-free lot deed. Bait.

I have to agree that this is one of the best house designs that I've seen yet which combines workspace and living space seamlessly. Looks village sized so the house proper can be a largish rowhouse. Thanks @redfish :)
