    Can a "converted" Founder (former Benefactor) also upgrade another Benefactor ?

    What he was referring to with the $45, is that you have to have a $45 Benefactor level to start with, not a $10 guilt pledge. The gifted pledge is the $40 Founder Adventurer. I have done several, and all worked smoothly.

    As a founder im pretty disappointed in this move.

    At this point why even have benefactor level?

    They will mostly all be upgraded shortly anyways, except that some people are profiting by it pretty well (in this thread plenty of examples), while the rest of us founders who don't want to front money to strangers have had all our rewards devalued.

    I support the game and I know they need funding but this cash grab leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

    Personally, I think the referral bonus should only happen if it is a new, unrecognized email address, not to an existing account/player. And 'paying' people for choosing you to upgrade them leaves a bad taste in my mouth, too.

    and those who get upgraded to founder, can then get referral bonuses themselves for upgrading other people to founder...? honestly the whole thing smacks of a rather ridiculous cash grab :(

    I will leave the upgrading to original founders myself. I am so greatful to founders for helping out benefactors. They are the heroes in this in my book :)

    Me too, but I did have one friend that I game with every night in GW2, WOT... that I gifted. However, he has three other of our friends that have not pledged yet that he plans on gifting to them that will give us three new pledges. So in a way, I feel it was right thing for me to do. And, I just gifted him, didn't ask nor do I want any $40 payment from him. So it is a true gift. :cool:

    Gifting to new people you draw in is totally different and that's what the referral bonus SHOULD be there for. :)

    Earlier in this thread you were asking someone to upgrade you to founder status and now you are advertising in your signature to upgrade benefactors and getting $25 for each one you do.
