Darkstarr Reward Delivery and Airship City Home Limited Availability

0 Days Until Darkstarr Reward Delivery

Greetings Avatars,

The Darkstarr rewards, available to backers that have a pledge dated prior to July 31, 2013, are expiring after August 31, 2015. All backers that are eligible for any of the four Darkstarr rewards will have those rewards delivered to their account following August 31. They will be listed on your profile account page, similar to the manner in which any Add-On Store items you may have purchased are displayed. The Darkstarr rewards include:

  • All Tiers ($25 and higher) – The Darkstarr Salute!  A special emote that only backers can master and teach to others.
  • Founder Tier ($65 and higher) – The Darkstarr Cloak! A special cloak for your in-game avatar to wear, proudly displaying the unique Darkstarr symbol, identifying you as a backer of the game.
  • Virtual Collector Tier ($110 and higher) – The Darkstarr Metronome! For those of you planning to play virtual instruments this mechanical metronome could be very useful! Set this in-game decoration next to your instrument and turn it on!
  • Citizen Tier ($550 and higher) – The Darkstarr Moondial! A special in-game, yard decoration which will track the heavens day and night! Very useful when planning strategies in-game, as astronomical events which drive some story aspects will be easily determined with this device.

Once those Darkstarr rewards have been distributed to the eligible accounts, they will no longer be associated with specific pledges and cannot be transferred automatically if a pledge is sold or gifted to another account.

If you were thinking of upgrading your pledge to receive any of the rare Darkstarr rewards, you will need to do so by end of day August 31, 2015, after which they will no longer be available.

Airship City Home Limited Availability

SotA_Airship_CityHome_1

When we announced the Airship City Home in Friday’s weekly update, you may have noticed that it was priced at a premium well above the average cost of homes in the Add-On Store. As such, it was not intended to be included as one of the Add-On Store House Selections on the Player Owned Town Submission Form. It was brought to our attention that it was inadvertently included in the submission form menu, so we had it removed this weekend.

As a premium home, the Airship will only be available through the Add-On Store. Our apologies for any confusion this may have caused.

You will note that Darkstarr’s Airship does have an Obsidian feel to it, clearly a man of taste.

Good point! If I were going to travel in an Air Ship, that’s the one I’d want it to be.

I don’t know what you’re asking, Blake. So the devs might not understand either. Can you rephrase and explain why?

Sorry, I was referring to the Air Ship. When POTs were first offered, some of them included city add-on store home deeds.

Due to the limited resources of the development team, the city sized homes were delayed. I think it would be appropriate to remove the Air Ship homes until the original promised items are fulfilled.

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the Air ship and it’s possibilities, but it led to a lot of disappointment with this announcement. POT owners eagerly await the arrival of city homes that came with their extended pledge of a POT.

I think you could kill two birds with one stone by removing the item from the add-on store, for the time being. You would increase the draw and appeal to the Air Ships and appease city owners at the same time.

Also, you would make city lot owners happy by offering a variety of selections at a lower price point.

The Air Ships are a good idea and bring new possibilities to SotA. It just seems that the timing is a little early if the item is not offered to POT owners.

I agree with you Blake. I had actually selected this as one of my City Add-On homes for my PoT, but now it has been removed from my submission form. Now its back to the “Adobe Keep”?…. meh.. No, Ill pass on that as I don’t have a desert biome. I didn’t realize when purchasing a metropolis PoT that the City sized Add-On Homes were going to be limited to those under a certain price… AKA those that were not “premium”. So, basically now any add-on home that has “premium” tagged to it isn’t included? This is very disappointing and doesn’t seem right. I say leave it on the store…. but let PoT owners select it as their add- on homes.

I am sort of in it with you guys here… I get the need to make money, I do. I even encourage it… Monetization is good, you’re a business. But it was a big disappointment to see the first house that’s come on to the addon store I actually want to use … be locked out from selection. =/

          2. Teflon_BoyTeflon_Boy

Or maybe make the airships limited as selection for PoT owners. As in allow PoT owners to have a limited number of them for selection (maybe 1 or 2 per PoT based on size). That would seem a little more fair. Or a buy one get one option? haha

        2. JatvardurJatvardur

I’d like it if the airships were an option for POT owners (on the POT creation sheet). I won’t die if they are not an option, but can’t say I’m that fond of the current city size options. Twin spire house is ok, and I will take it if the other future options are worse. Adobe one is not for me.

I don’t see any reason to offer the airship to PoT owners as a freebie. Portalarium should have the right to determine what city houses are available. Additionally, I don’t believe they should be beholden to PoT owners as to scheduling what is available in the addon store and when. Finally, having a lower price point for PoT owners is a disaster waiting to happen. Elitism and favoritism are two words that spring to mind as well as the fact that in would directly benefit the PoT owners who would scoop up homes at a lower price to sell them for a higher price down the road.

    @dallas

If the DarkStarr rewards will be added as if an addon item, then please could the same be done for the referal items as well? This since it includes one of the DarkStarr awards and it would avoid you some confusion and support questions.
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?page_id=19#faq_86
Also if they are added as value zero could you please then remove the Convert to Credits button so that someone doesn’t inadvertedly destroy their awards?

Also are there any other homes/houses which are in this limited availability list not available for POTs?

  2. SpoonSpoon

Oh, and also note that the bug is still there as reported way back by Lord Andernut, for DarkStarr awards shown in lots of Founder accounts but not really valid for them since they are on the wrong side of the date.
So check that bug/data/datum carefully before adding items to accounts.

    1. dallasdallas Post author

Yes, we are aware of that bug, and it is being worked on. Only those accounts with pledges dated prior to July 31, 2013 will be eligible for the Darkstarr rewards and that should be reflected in the next wipe.

      1. Logain

Where can I see when I pledged? The date displayed under the pledge seems to be the date of the last upgrade, rather than that of the original pledge, unless I’m horribly mistaken.

        1. KerKer

Unless this was recently changed the time stamp under your pledge is that at which the pledge was created. I’ve updated pledges and the old time stamp is still showing.

          Hope this helps.

Will the Airship have a (home) location or will it be at the choice of the owner where to go and dock?

  3. Teflon_BoyTeflon_Boy

As far as the Darkstarr rewards at the citizen level I see this “Citizen Tier ($550 and higher)” above. Does that mean that a Royal Founder Citizen account at the value of $500 will not receive the moondial?

    1. tphilipptphilipp

It will. The prices displayed are the current prices – all corresponding levels that are still at some price from before the price-increase will also receive those rewards, of course.

i’m a founder i have one of those nice gold circles around my F. when i look at my page it says i should get them. it says founders get the rewards but when i check the date of the account all of a sudden i now am no longer eligible for what it says on the rewards page that i should be getting. doesn’t make sense to me

“Airship City Home Limited Availability” So does this mean limited as in only available from the store? or does it mean that there will be a finite number and they will only be available from the store?
