    Question: What are the plans for the actual meaningless pve death?

    Question: Are you gonna balance/change taming, especially for (1) preventing low level players to get/use the strongest pets and (2) preventing players with low to no taming skills to use the strongest pets? If so, how are you gonna do that?

      +1. Am a huge fan of a control pet skill where the pet either wanders off or attacks the owner every now and then.

      (1) the current mechanic is the focus cost when having a pet out. But i think it doesn’t check if you at least enough focus
      (2) you must be really lucky to get a highlvl pet with low taming skills.

      In total I agree we need a bit to balance the use of pets.

    In earlier times, prior to the advent of Player Owned Towns, there were rumors of Lotteries for the purchase of Lot Deeds for the 30% surplus lots that were going to be in game after the lots for all pledged and purchased lots.

    With the success of Player Owned Towns, the number of lots available in game will far outstrip the number of available lots originally envisioned. What are the Dev Team’s current plans in this regard?

    2) The current teleport system encourages you to spam for friends to choose from when teleporting and encourages guilds to set up bots 24×7 as “waypoints” allowing you to teleport all over the world – what is the long term plan for fast travel – currently one never need approach a control point to get where you want.

      ad 2) Currently I see no real issue with the control points – I just run through them.
      I also see no pint in paying a fee – either I am low level and cannot afford. Or I am high level and just pass it as quickly as possible.
      My main concern is “/stuck” – I know this can be exploited and I did not really need if for quite some releases (except being killed and not able to open a door as ghost).
      However it was very convenient. E.g. I had used it to leave my home town: /stuck to leave the home and another /stuck to get to the entry – this has saved me a lot of boring running. It might not be realistic and might be exploitable, but the game should be fun and /stuck definitely made the game more fun.
      Its Ok for me to cross the land once in a while without zoning, but leaving my house 20x a day is just boring….

      +1 not a fan of the teleport to friends system.. mabey change it to a summon system so the so called friend is using thier resources to summon. Idk but current system is begging for begging.

      3) Question: When will we see an Overland MiniMap? Or could we have the option to zoom way out on the Overland Map instead?

      4) Feature Request: Exit/Escape Dungeon Spell/Scroll? We could use this to teleport to the entrance/exit of a town (or right to the Overland Map). If we can recall home we may as well be able to recall out of a scene as well. POT’s especially the small ones are massive scenes that, at least in the case mountainous scenes, can take a very long time to find your way out.

    Question: Any chance we could get the Npc’s that are inside control points to be interactable on the overhead map instead, and pay them there. Since we can pay them to avoid the control points, it would be nice to be able to pay them outside instead of having to enter to do so.

    Question: Will Player Owned Towns be subject to Town Sieges?

    At one point it was rumored that they would, but having a Moon Tower in the town would prevent this. Is this still the case? If not, will there be another method my with Governors might be able to opt out of this feature?

      I am one of the Town Owners who would welcome a Siege! So I am curious to know if this can please be a Thing!

        I think town sieges should affect every town, regardless of type, be it NPC, PRT, or POT.

        Furthermore, I think the roaming siege mobs should also overrun the wilderness scenes as they travel from town to town.

          While I’ve read somewhere that POTs will not be a subject to sieges until later after release (if at all), I’d welcome some kind of gameplay mechanics (either strategic or otherwise) to make owning the POT more fun. But if those mechanics are added, there should also be some kind of counter mechanics to allow POT owners to repel the attackers, monsters etc. Would be nice if there was something that POT owners/residents could build together, and sieges would affect only those structures.

          Buildings purchased with real money and especially the backer buildings shouldn’t be a subject to being damaged by these gameplay mechanics, or additional structures should provide much higher defence ration. Like if you build a castle walk around your backer home, mobs should not be able to get through if grate is closed etc. definitely want more gameplay mechanics in POTs, other than just some passive mechanics like blessing…. One of the reasons that POTs and “apartment” instances become so desolated in games is because NOTHING really happens in there other than some player made boring RP events.

    Follow up on Rufus’s question. Will nested pots be subject to town sieges.

    New questions…

    Will PVP trophies ever actually be non retractable ? in other words I kill a player and they can’t buy back the skull. As a PVP flagged player It’s tiring that when I get attacked by a non PVP player, I kill Them and I can’t actually keep the trophy because they always buy it back for cheap gold. Bragging rights please!

    What is the furthest distance a pot connection can be from its home location?

    What’s the possibility of pot owners having limited control over weather? For example if I wanted a continuous spooky light fog in the region.

      Question: what’s the chance of extending the PVP flag duration for non flagged players that attack/gank flagged players. The temporary flag should extend beyond the scene and last at least 24 hours. I find the current system is rewarding the wrong kind of behaviour.

      +1 to seasonal meteor showers like IRL (e.g. Perseids in August, Orionids in October, etc). They would make for great viewing events…and other player-created activities.

    Do you guys feel the current framework for crafting is representative of the final framework? As we are weeks away from the last reset before Final Wipe I am curious how much you actually plan to change crafting and some of it’s economic impacts.

    Fine tuned questions (take your pick FireLotus!):
    -Will gathering still work with experience/progression as it does now
    -Will refining still work with experience/progression as it does now
    -Will production still work with experience/progression as it does now
    -Will meaningful gear, even just aesthetically, be introduced into crafting (Example: I killed 1000 Kobolds so I can make a weapon that is outfitted with a Kobold themed hilt and has a unique title)
    -Will specializations be fixed (I can focus on something and make something unique because of it)
    -Will NPC guilds be created with economic benefits (IE: I am a grandmaster blacksmith so I can join the Blacksmith Guild and get blacksmithing stuff from an NPC quartermaster at cut rate costs)
    -Will BODs be addressed to be a reliable source of income (currently taxes on property, with adjusted income rates as suggested by devs, force players into an online gaming economy to survive. Can we possibly see this fixed through BODs so we can enjoy small group and solo play without interacting with the online community?)
    -Will total available items effect value (IE: someone spams 5000 longswords into the game over a three day period… will longswords now be sold/purchased for less by NPCs)?
    -Will components be reworked to gain more value if struck by an adept/master/grandmaster?

    I have more if you want more but I figure this is enough to make FireLotus want to /MYwrists already <3

          What is listed is the Start Time for any given group. Once started, and the ability to claim a lot with a deed has been granted, it is never removed. If your time slot starts and the next three groups’ slots have started before you can claim a lot, you can still claim a lot.

          The beginning of subsequent group’s opportunity is no the end of the previous group’s ability to claim a lot.

    Somone suggested having taming collars recipies for each tameable creature type i.e. wolf, bear etc. And make them dropable and tradeable. Obviously the tougher creature types being more rare. This will help the economy by both making the recipies and the color types valuable.

    Question why dont the current taming collors use the same rules as other craftables -durability- ?

    Are you worried that some insanely wonderful powergamer already beat single-handedly your hardest content, mere hours after you release it? Do you think there’s a risk of content being steamrolled in matter of weeks (or days) at release? Are you worried you’ll be forced to balance your game toward the most dedicated players, neglecting the casuals?

      +1, but with comment:
      People with more time on their hands will always have some kind of an upper hand. They invest their time, which is the same time as casuals invest, except they don’t have as much of it. Should the power gamers be punished because casuals don’t have time? Or should casuals be rewarded for their lack of time? It was always big question in online games. The best solution IMHO, is rested experience pool, like in LOTRO or many other MMOs. Say, you don’t play for 2 days and your rested exp grows to some certain amount. Until you use all the experience in that rested experience pool, you will receive 2x-3x experience. It needs to be balanced so that this rested expience pool would only allow to limited catch up if you’ve played that time instead.

      But to be honest, it doesn’t seem that Portalarium tries to keep in mind casual players in mind, at least as far as skill progression goes. Even with 4x e p, you had to grind thousands of mobs to get a couple of skills maxed. Without this exp boost, I can only imagine the horror of grind, ESPECIALLY for casual players. There are many none-combat related things that can be done by casuals RP, POTS etc., but as in any other game I’ve played, all the content is usually related to adventuring because of crafting mats, money, etc etc. so I don’t envy casual players much, and I am one of those even though semi-casuals.

    Will you be unable to learn recipes for skills you have not advanced to yet?

    Because It seems that currently you can simply throw money/time/fuel at any recipe until its crafted. Critically losing important components on low percentages could go a long way to build crafters working together rather then everyone simply able to build anything. That or not letting recipes to unlearned skills be, um… learned.

        +1 to all. I’d also like to see refining skill trees to matter more instead of being just the middlestep. For example, to produce higher quality ingots that affect the overall bonus on the finished product. I also think that scrap metal should make the lowest quality ingots of all.

    Can we get more information about how the “Ranged attack targeting” feature is going to be developed? will we be able to use spells this way as well?

    Also, lots of people have been complaining about how ranged free attack actually changes your target (which seems to be a bug because of the way Ranged attack targeting was written on r26), but i personally like it as a way of moving away from targeted combat into aimed combat.

    Question: will POT owners be given any more tools/freedom to customize their POTs, other than lawn mower (to cut trees down), and do you intend to make POTs more meaningful in game, other than blessing? Anything in plans? Do you plan to give POT owners any scripting power to make their own events with game assets like monsters? So we can make our own unique little quests, other than just doing RP events in person…

    At this point all the POTS are just a piece of land, that, if nothing happens in it, will become desolate very quick.

    Question: Getting a last name early was a pledge reward. Currently, the last name is not unique, only the combination of first and last together. I could be Will Smith, and you could be Bill Smith. Is this working as intended?

    The game feels too vanilla. I am NOT a pvp’er but would support control points being pvp to add strategy and danger to the game. Also, put some really good loot/resources in pvp zones. Impliment the system where when you die, the resouces you have gathered in that instance remains on your body.

      There are Shardfalls that are PvP Areas. Making control points PvP would force those who don’t wish to participate in PvP to either consent to PvP or not enter control points.

      The provision you request has already be satisfied with the Shardfalls.

          I’ve always been told that PvP was about competition and that simply being able to measure yourself against Human opponents rather than an AI was the compelling reason for PvP.

    If I have this correct, soon our friends lists will become following lists and a new friends list will be established based on mutual consent. Will I still be able to whisper my “follow” list and just not be able to teleport to their location?

    – Some unique quests are made by all players. For exemple, all of us have to look for the same amulet and bring it to the same person, even if it is already been accomplished by other players, so how the multiplayer aspect is taken into account in this case ?
    – Can we expect that items claimed by NPCs are a bit more generic equipment, randomly generated from a pool of defined items (for more immersion) ?
    – Richard Garriott concerns was to avoid the traditional MMO quests (bring me X of Y, kill X mobs …) and to build more immersive missions. Is it possible to refuse to do the quest in a traditional way?
    – In the public area, we can’t move items and very few are usable. Do you plan to extend the interactions in all accessible areas using a tweaked decoration system?

      As regards your 4th point… In a multiplayer environment, there will be those that take things simply because they can. There will be those that destroy for the joy they derive from destruction. If everything, or most things, in public areas are moveable, or takable what do you think those public areas would look like a week after final wipe compared to how they looked on the day of?

      My belief is that they would be stripped bare in the span of a day.

        I did not say that there should not be limits: if you move an object that does not belong to you, the guards could attack you and if death is truly detrimental, believe it will be a very serious limitation; one can also imagine that large furniture cannot be manipulated (because they are fixed on the ground, because of a lack of strength, whatever). In all cases, a permission system can be set up to identify what can be done or not by players or groups of players who visit the area, and what can be a punishable transgression.
        However, if the only interaction with the world is to take or to activate a limited number of objects, it can be a serious problem for immersion.

      As I was told last hangout…”Read the quarterly update…it says after final wipe” nothing more specific. Sad though. I feel this will be something that will be totally dropped from the game for whatever reason.

    In the early releases there was a bug that put your avatar into what could only be called “Butt Surfing Mode” I really miss that. Any chance this could be brought back as an *Emote* or even possibly the sale of Flying Carpets in the Add On Store that would give the same appearance?

    Q): Will there be a 4x XP buff after this month’s wipe? Last chance to test leveling without!

    Q): Are there any plans to revise control points with different options to support meta gameplay for guild vs guild or general PvP?

      At the very least, I would like to see it reduced back to 2x to sort of wean us down closer to what it will really be like after final wipe. But I would prefer it be no xp buff at all for R29.

      We need to start getting used to the real thing.

    Question: Will it be coastal water village lots in coastal Towns?
    I hope there will be so lighthouses that is placed will actual be in logical places
    instead of several lighthouses in the kingsport river as we had early releases.

    Would be extra nice if that lot could have a shipwreck when empty.

    Q): Will there be some plan on improving the game play experience for duel wield weapons? Right now the auto attack only uses one hand and avatars will have to spam a glyph for off hand, which very awkward to play.

    Q): How far are we getting the feature “whole house magic mover”?

    Q): Will we have any more new houses coming to in-game or add-on stores soon since the pledges that give houses will go away after final wipe?

    Please tell me this game will have consequences? I cant stand wow because there are none !!!! I want a fun game that has risk vrs reward. Some examples might include but not limited to exp loss on death, loss of items. Full loot pvp with the player choosing the level of pvp they are interested in. I did play uo early on with my husband and found it amazing just about every game ive played since has been a disapointment.

    1) Will the Obsidian Tower (Village size) receive some attention? The interior is very poorly designed. I’d suggest removing the staircase, let the ladder reach the floor, and lower the floor of the ipstairs hole

    Question: why did you take the easy road on makers mark. If a blacksmith makes a poor blade they would not take the time to engrave it. Only exceptionally made items are worty of a makers mark. They should be hard to achieve and rewarding.

    Question: Is there any plan to tackle the issue where non-pvp-flagged groups of players ganked up a pvp-flagged player and get away with it afterward, which prevent the PVP from retaliate later on since the temp pvp flag will be removed after the ganker leave the zone or time out? This could ruin the aspect of PVP altogether.

      +1 i agree brother, i like they can throw in anytime but a orcle visit should be required to remove the flag.

    Would it be possible to get an idea of where the entrance/exit options will be for the PoT Maps. Currently on some maps (such as forest 2, underground, grassland etc) it is not that obvious.
    Although the movement of entrance spawn locations won’t happen until after July, it would be really useful in terms of PoT planning where we can move them to in the future.

    QUESTION: How is it explained in the game that every hero is doing the exact same quests? Every hero has to find the key to Highvale and bring some letters or some unique item to NPCs. Yet according to the lore of SotA we are aware that other outlanders arrived in the world. But then how does it work that everyone gets hold of the one and only unique item that is needed for a quest?

    A lot of folks lately have been asking about meaningful consequences for death. Is it possible that we can get an updated version of the “PVP & Death: Current Thinking Megapost” from Mar 6, 2014?

    For example…
    1. Can we expect that death will eventually take a cut out of our Adventurer experience pool?
    2. Can we expect that failure to gather or craft will eventually take a cut out of our Producer pool?
    3. Are there any ideas yet on how the concept of “PVP players can shift the dynamics of the game environment” will be achieved?

    For Lot selection, if you cannot get to a computer on the day that you can first select a lot, is it possible to go in any day after that first day to select a lot, up to and including August 24?

    Question: If you receive approximately 20% of the Exp back from dropping a skill, what happens to the other 80% – Is it lost forever?

    Assuming it is lost, can that 80% be added to the experience required for the next Adventurer Level?

    Reason: If I am keep dropping and gaining, I could potentially get to level 100 and actually have the adventuring points spent of someone in their 70s.

    Why is healing touch have a 8 seconds cool down while healing ray has a 10 seconds cool down? Wouldn’t it make more sense for a healing touch cool down of 5 seconds with a 10 second cool down for healing ray or a healing touch 6 cool down with a 12 second healing ray cool down? Healing Touch is the one spell everyone has and uses. It is the basic healing skill you gave us.
