    With the skill decay, death has consequences now. But can we please have at least the food buff persist through death?

      This absolutely. There’s almost no point eating food because in most of the scenes where it’d be useful it’s also a waste to eat it.

      Agreed, Agreed , Agreed, many people are saying they will not use the Food Buffs when facing MOB’s where they may be killed numerous times. This is all because of the cost and having to keep eating another one after you die, which then says fewer sales for crafters. Even if you were to reduce the times on the Food items from like 3 hours to 2 hours would increase usage and sales. And after all is that not the reason for the need for food in the first place. Quit penalizing me for dyeing. We already suffer time rezzing delays and Exp loss, that is enough.

    Are there plans to add party-loot-mechanics to the game? [E.g. a setting for “anyone can loot but the loot gets distributed round robin” or “everyone keeps what he loots himself” or “you can only loot every x-th corpse” and the like.] If yes, can you give some details on it?

    What plans are there for supporting the dedicated crafter playstyle? It feels like more-and-more of my crafting time is spent in combat. Any chance we’ll see “crafting scenes” in the future so the builders and artisans can enjoy the game also?

      A fantastic idea!

      Maybe there could be scenes that are only open to people on a crafting quest, which is offered by a trainer to achieve a new crafting skill or something? (Sort of like the quests to get elemental pets, except a whole scene is designed around it instead of just a mob.)

      Or, maybe you could spend producer XP to purchase access to a mining or gathering scene of some sort?

        I like the idea of people who just want to craft & build have options other than combat to get the material or ingredients that they need. If you bring in family members and friends there’s bound to be one who’d rather stay at the crafting tables upping their skills, outfitting the rest with armor /weapons/clothes and decorating the house :)

        It would make the town feel more like a community, not everyone has to be a warrior or mage.

    Now that there is skill decay on death, has there been any thoughts to hitting the skill experience pool first before actual skill loss.

    I agree with Mariothegreat the loss of food buff on death is harsh, it seems like every time I eat a good meal I am destined to die shortly after, maybe just cut part of the time on the food buff off rather than losing the entire meal :(

    Any ETA on Leather dyes?

        Instead what one should do is friend every person they meet, use a teleport scroll instead of recall, and teleport to people instead of lots.

      Used to be that way before scrolls were introduced… which were introduced because they didn’t want people to have more than one recall option. So I doubt that will get changed.

    Noticing alot of recipes no longer existing. Why was there a need to remove them? Example….fishing poles. Was there really a need to remove it?
    Also will there ever be an easier way to report bugs without having to go through the long long list of other stuff that is not related to the bug “I” am reporting?
    Will it be possible to make a smaller water well….one without the lower section of pavers? And will they be able to be put in basements soon?

    In the Patch Notes for R35, October 31, 2016, Build Number 501, under Known Issues, the first issue listed is “Fountains and Wells placed in POTs will only provide water to the POT owner”…Does this mean, at some point, we’ll get settings to allow others to use it?

    Question: What are the plans for the fulfillment of the “Family Crest” Fonder’s Reward?

    I’ve asked similar, more specific questions on this subject in the last two post-mortems. They’ve not been answered in either the post-mortem itself, or in the subsequent “Answer the unanswered questions” threads by DarkStarr. This is leading to some trepidation for myself, and others who’ve contributed to the Heraldic community since the earliest days of the project that this reward may be being sidestepped. Either a confirmation, or some assurance that it will be fulfilled would be appreciated.

    Question : When might we see Farming Supply Vendors added for Governors of POTs?

    This is and has been a gaping hole in the NPC selection for Governors… Having to travel to an NPC town to buy seeds would seem to be an un-necessary effort, especially as the necessary crafting elements for all other crafts are available through the NPC Vendors available to Governors.

    I have had a player owned town for all of a week now and I’m really happy with how it looks. So much so that I’m looking at upgrading it.

    So some more questions regarding PoTs. I appreciate PoT owners are a minority and therefore implementation would be a lower priority:

    1. Will it be possible to implement tech so that we don’t have to wait a full release to upgrade the capacity of a player owned town?

    2. While I fully understand the requirement for a limitation to player owned town decorations, the current limitations seem a little excessive and they stifle creativity. Assuming optimisation continues to go well – when will, or will we see a redoubling of available decorations?

    Question: Will you consider raising the exterior lighting limits? The town-lot lighting limits are incredibly painful at the moment.

    Question 1: Could we please get /stats to read out in game again? Having to run third-party applications to view game stats feels old school….in a bad way.

    Question 2: Can you provide details on how to receive the specific rewards outlined in the testing incentive program (beyond the 4-hour reward)?

    Q1. Are you going to add more Encounter Scenes for the Roving Encounters?
    The “Desert Encounter” scene and the “Desert Road Encounter” scene, for example?

    Currently you have Encounter scenes only for “Forest Road Encounter”,
    “Plains Encounter”, “Swamp Road Encounter” and “Plains Road Encounter”.

    Q2. Will you make it possible to meet Charlotte Gray in a random Merchant encounter next to Ardoris?

    There are players who want to meet Charlotte Gray after rescuing her in the Solace Bridge Tutorial.

    Q3. Can you add the “Birch Tree 6-Pack” to the Add-on store?

    I love birch trees.

    Q: Can you please discuss the upcoming changes to the NPC Conversation system, and where you are pulling your influences from for the changes?

    Q: How high on the list of priorities is place any item down on your lot (ie. Weapons) – any hints about when this may come? (ie. Q1)

    Q: It was suggested that we would have higher NPC limits on our lots. What I would really like is the ability to display your pets. Perhaps we could have internal and external NPC limits similar to the way lighting/items work? Perhaps also scaling could work differently rather than a linear +1 NPC per lot size upgrade.

    Question 1: Would you please get rid of the plant watering confirmation gump? Many people are very sure that they want to water their plants.

    Question 2: Could we have something (internal 2nd chance or some biased odd) that would make the 80ish% success chance for enchantment and masterwork feel it’s like it’s really 80ish% and not failing every time just because we have bad RNG seed? If not, could we have something more bearable than just a few scrap should the work failed?

    Question 3: Are we getting the beer brewery for sure this coming release?

    Q1: Will you add motivation for alternating daily quests rather farming the same mob/area again and again? Proposed Option: heavily increase first loot oft the day/week for a certain boss or dungeon (e.g. britanny severs) but reduce it for follow up farming until next day/week.

    Q2: Will you add further features to support epic coop quests? This could be an NPC in an instance speaking to all players at once with one player driving the Dialog instead of each player klicking it alone by himself.

    Q3: When will you care for the bag mode inventory? From my view it needs only three additional buttons at the Moment. One for take all, one for sort/arrange and one for switch to list mode for eah individual bag.( e.g. large guild chest)

    Online vs Offline barrier differences. Can’t remember or find if you had answered this so maybe you’ll be willing to do a quick run through.

    You have some things online that are there to help create your regional economies. Online I don’t mind these things because I can see where you might feel it necessary. However I’ve been doing some offline playing and these features seem a WEE BIT pointless here. So – Will these be removed from offline play where there is no one else to compete with economically?

    For example, banks – will they be regional or could they be global?
    Slow travel when vastly weighted – will I go at a normal speed?
    Teleporting points – can we have more than one place to bind too?

    And if you are removing them – when will this happen?

    Question 1: When it comes to hiding the Adventurer and Producer levels in ‘/stats’, what qualifies other numbers like Strength, Dex, Resist and Avoid as scores that cannot also be ‘eyeballed’? My understanding is Adventurer Level affect PvE hit% which is why I wish to view it, as well as providing an overall sensation of growth for my own interest.

    Question 2: Is the overall intention that a complete Episode 1 crafting and gathering system include more opportunities for player input to affect the outcome or is the RNG of large numbers the only way planned to curate supply?

    Question 3: How does the dev team feel about iconic creatures like the Dragon and Phoenix being overcome by outlanders? Is our power supposed to be demigod like with such herculean efforts being possible? Is this due to the requirement of Single Player Offline Outlanders needing to be able to overcome it? Will this therefore limit online interaction design space for ‘group’ encounters?

    Forgetting to disable decoration mode and inadvertently moving a decoration is very frustrating. Can you please remove the decoration mode and instead require a modifier key (shift or control) to be held down to initiate dragging a placed decoration?

    I want to be able to place certain decoration in my house and/or basement; such as hedges, fence pieces, streetlamps, etcetera; but I’m not allowed to. I’m also not allowed to place certain decorations on top of others — like I’m not allowed to place a planting pot or virtue statue on a table. Are there logical reasons for these limitation? Can we please get some of them removed?

    I use the right mouse button for mouselook and I often don’t move the camera enough before letting go of it and end up with a context menu for some item. Can we get an option to move the context menu to the middle mouse button?

    One more thing, can we please get an option to turn off sharpening?

    People have mentioned their concern for the decoration limits that are currently in game. I can understand the reasoning for limit primarily due to the lack of optimization. However, my question is about basement decoration.

    My question: Will the decoration limit for basements ever be increased.

    While participating in the house decoration contest, I hit my item limit very quickly (3500 for the town arena basement). That number sounds like a lot, but I was only able to complete about 60% of my overall design idea.

    Basements are in a completely separate scene and won’t affect PoTs or NPC towns. Aside from longer load times, I don’t understand why this couldn’t be increased (or why stacking can’t be over 5 for basements deco).

    Question 2: Recently the common Cloak went from being dye-able to not. Could this please be made dye-able again?

    PS Q3 taxes are too danged high. I won a town lot in the lottery and can’t place it. Only in game a few hours a week, and I can afford the row lot I own, but there is NO WAY I can support the town lot taxes. It makes me sad. ?

    Q: There have been many unaddressed posts in the forums about the algorithms related to crafting which lead to probabilities that do not match what the tables list. What do the devs have to say about this? Can you post up data showing that probabilities are matching what the game claims for say creating exceptionals (since you have the vast abundance of data and we can only test in small subsets).
    Q: Where can we find further statistical information about the game that should be available to backers under your guidelines for open transparency? Many people feel that the population has plummeted and are very worried, we would love to see your charts of total numbers of active players per hour since persistence started. Many people feel you are hiding this info along with significant population decline.
    Q: What is the devs stratagy for marketing and getting more people into this game.
    Q: You guys said release was the end of this year and for the past few months went silent on release and I just saw LB say Spring 2017 now. To be open and honest to your backers, we would like to know why this has changed, and when the real release of this game is. You are not being transparent about this.

    When damage resistance debuffs are applied multiple times on someone, does the damage resistance stop at 0 or will it drop to negative values if stacked high enough?

    Q: Why are you not acting faster on issue that should be priority number 1, which is my opinion stop the experience exploit in Control Point? (brightbone as being #1 issue) this has been an issue for a a very long time and every hotfix is not working. There are people getting more than 2.5million an hour and they are not being punished. An quick easy fix for now would be reset the control point after 12 min (all waves completed).

      We have indeed identified the issue and have begun a series of fixes in two phases. One is to stop the immediate opening of the exploit from occurring, which we’re hoping to do yet today. The next phase is to review and patch the process of acquiring XP in this scene, to ensure future related means of achieving XP cannot be exploited.

    Would it be possible to get a “Yes” Hotkey? Or maybe just make it the same as ‘E’ (the take all hotkey). With all the RSI going around and the constant clicking, it would be nice to minimize mouse movements and transfer some of the input to the other hand.     Hey, Hey, Devs.

    Here’s a few questions from me, myself, and I that you guys will hopefully answer during the live show or afterward. I’m pretty sure none of them have been asked before, but I could be wrong.

    1) When will we get a take all option when looting defeated foes and opened containers while using the Ultima 7 inventory system versus the list one? Also, when will items in sub containers stack. E.g. I have a sub backpack with reagents in it in my inventory backpack, and when I pick up a reagent that is in the sub backpack it doesn’t stack in the sub backpack it just puts it in my inventory backpack.

    2) Will game windows ever remember their last position? E.g. When crafting I want my recipe book in the upper left of the screen, my inventory in the upper center, and the crafting table in the lower right, and every time I begin to craft I position these windows where I want them, but then if I finish crafting and re-enter crafting at the same table the windows all reposition themselves. Once again this question is in reference to the U7 inventory system not the list one. I don’t use the list one, so I’m not sure if it acts the same.

    3) When will points of interest in adventure maps become actual points of interest? E.g. I enter a adventure map and begin exploring it, and I find the den of the local pack of wolves, and it’s actually a new adventure map using a cave terrain? Also along these same lines will adventure maps ever become more then resource gathering and combat grinding maps. E.g. I wonder upon a Bandit hideout and some how find out that the bandits plan to attack a local friendly farmstead or that they hid a cache of treasure some where in the same adventure map or anywhere else in the world that I can then go to to warn the farmstead of the bandit attack (or just defend them) or find and take the treasure cache for my self.

    4) And the bonus question: where are all the dungeons? The Ultima series has always been known not just for its towns, keeps, and castles, or the virtues, but also the deadly and dangerous dungeons where one has to get marks and stones, talk to time lords, drink from fountains, collect treasure, or just kill monsters, so where have all the dungeons gone?

    Q: Lord British once responded to a question asking whether we leave Novia every time we log out, and he said no; that once we go through the Isle of Storms we’re in Novia until the end. If this is true, why does the game show us teleporting into a scene every time we log in, and teleporting into a scene every time we change scenes?

    1) For crafting, would you consider changing Masterwork and Enchanting failure from instant destroy to instead damage the item? This would be as simple as a “bonus” with no benefit but a negative durability. Changing this would not significantly increase “high tier” items, but would significantly help fill in the “mid tier”, which are practically non-existent. It would also help fix the stigma that crafting has now (gather thousands of materials, make a few exceptional pieces, and then blow them all up hoping for one good piece).

    We do have a thread in the Feedback forum on this, in case you missed it.

    2) Like twofoldsilence said, where are the dungeons? There seems to be a serious lack in underground fighting locales that are not mines.

    3) What happened to the Charlie Brown Dance emote that was discussed during the last Telethon? Starr said it was something that HAD to be done, and I agree!

    Q1. – Will we get any new agriculture skills soon to help with better yields or faster growth rates, or better seed recovery chances, etc.?

    Q2. – Can you give us any clues or details on the Cabalist and the sieges that are planned to be appearing soon?

    Q3. – Has the new “Bug Brigade” team helped in any significant way? I know that Attenwood is very thankful to us, but was just wondering if this effort is actually making an impact on getting bugs squashed.

    1. What pseudo random number generation algorithm is used in Shroud? After years of research in grad school on this topic, there are benefits and drawbacks to many different algorithms, and it seems an experience like Shroud deserves strong attention to its generation algorithm. The best algorithms like the Mersenne Twister and its variants ensure no one has an advantage with short periods, dirty correlation, and poor distribution.

    2. How long in-game do we have to react to the new reactive skills like Aetheric Feedback?

    3. Could you allow the chat window to remain open during scene transitions?

    Q1. Can you add the “Tabletop Titan of Love Statue”, the “Tabletop Titan of Truth Statue” and the “Tabletop Titan of Courage Statue” to the Add-on store?

    Q2. When will the first footstep sound effects for different surfaces start appearing to the game?

    Q3. How expensive and how time consuming it would be to add footstep sound effects for different surfaces to each Played Owned House, to each Player Owned Basement and to each Scene?

    Footstep sound effects on different surfaces is an Ultima 9 feature which is still missing from SotA.

    Hello! It was nice to meet some of you at the SotA Con last weekend!

    Question 1: I’m a huge fan of the weather system. In the NPC towns like Owl’s Head, you can hear the ocean if you are near the dock. In POTs, it has been an issue for as many releases as I can remember that you can’t hear the ocean at all. I believe this was reported as a bug a long time ago. Is it on the radar for fixing?

    Question 2: Some of my guildmates are reporting better graphics and faster load times this week. Did we get some tweaks to help things move along faster and look better?

    Question 3: Are there eventual plans for runes/mark/recall to get around faster or will we always be running around on the overland map? Not complaining. Just curious of future plans.

    Q: Will you ever implement changes with PVE in consideration, and not just PVP, also will common raid
    strategies be employed agasint various cps, instances/boss type mobs? examples, kiting, line of sighting, keeping certain mobs stunned/trapped/cc’d giving groups more than just oh lets stand on this cp and look weird?

    Q:When will tamers get to see more than just spiders/wolves/bears/scorpions ie:MORE VARIETY and pets with special abilities? example, a creature with lightning breath, which could be used as a stun.

    Q: When can we expect to see a higher level of content for those of use approaching lvl 100 and above?

    Q: Do you play the game? Starting like we did from level 1 and working your way up the levels, pve? this seems to be an issue with some of the ahem changes made recently. 1. NOT everyone pvps, nor LIKES to pvp.

    Q:Can we expect group raid (pve) type bosses anytime soon?

    Q: Will rangers/hunters/tamers types be given a cc similar to oh say ice traps or other types? Those kobolds are crafty critters I’m sure they can come up with something….

    Q:Will the wolves ever stop running away? they seem a bit cowardly.

    Question 1) Are there any plans for additional attack skills that use our Avatar’s feet? I think it would be cool to have skills like flaming foot or icy foot so that Avatar’s could fight with style while not having weapons?

    Question 2) With regards to alchemy, are there plans for differing quality levels of potions and/or a greater variety of potions such as smoke potions to blind or oily potions to slow?

    Question 3) Will we see a greater variety of undead such as undead wolves or trolls? Or is there something special about humans that only allows them the be reanimated?

    I appreciate your time and efforts in including us in the development of the great game.

    Thank you for this great update! Another month marching of progress to launch!

    Question 1: We have a progress bar at the bottom of the POT UI of limits that shows how much Lot Square Feet Used. Is it possible to add a graphic bar of how much of actually placed marker are claimed by active lots?

    Question 2: Will we see permission model for stewards and residents akin to giving POT deco a private option?

    Question 1: Any thoughts on a ‘boolean AND’ type of search feature in the inventory management filter? Such as Gold+Man+Cloth would filter all item names of that type including partially matched item names? In this example gold ingots, mandrake and cloth armor would be displayed in the alchemy crafting stations, and would be additionally filtered by the way items are greyed out.

    Question 2: I’d like to be able to drag an item, such as a cloth chest piece directly onto the “Enchantment” recipe, and the mandrake and gold ingots are automatically populated into the crafting window. If there aren’t enough resources you get an error indicating as such..?

    Question 3: Very happy to see new boats and wagons being added to the POT maps! I was wondering .. if there could please be some…additional consideration to allowing POT owners to move these overland/NPC wagons within a defined radius of their default placement? On forested grasslands template for example, perhaps the boat could be moved/turned like a standard object by the POT owner within range of the docks area?

    Q: Roving encounters are great but they need to scale with the player or group level so that they are challenging and not an annoyance. Can we get this in immediately?

    Q: The game needs more challenging content and zones added to the game preferably 5 + skull areas. Dungeon crawls group activities. These were talked about, will the be in game before the end of this year?

    Q: still haven’t seen the PVP push talked about from a release or two ago when can we expect to see this?

    Q: rare spawns, uber rare quest items complex almost impossible Quests, more challenging secret quests can we expect to see any of these in the near future?

    The Island POT has small outlying islands. On one of these housing lots can be placed. Currently there is no ferry going to or from this island.

    In the future will the Dev’s place a ferry to this island OR will the Governor’s of the Island POTS be able to place ferry’s on their own?

    I really don’t like the dev hangouts being on twitch. I was playing the game while it was going on and could have had it on in the background but the echoes and quality of it were atrocious. I know I said this earlier but it was disappointing to me to miss it. Now if that happens with the telethon I will really hate it. Please, please, please reconsider this choice in media coverage for the hangouts outs. Also for me I am having trouble with discord, every time I click on accept it never gets me anywhere and I have downloaded discord even.

      Hi majoria70,

      I’m sorry to hear that you missed it! We have struggled with trying to find a service and programs that work for everyone, but unfortunately there are always the fringe cases :(. I’m afraid we cannot continue recording both live on YouTube and Twitch simultaneously. Discord is also now our primary chat interface for several important reasons.
