    Q1: How does the historic goal of allowing players to make the best items in the game match up with the new artifact system? Are there plans to allow players to create similar items and abilities to integrate the goal into artifacts?

    Q2: Are there any long term plans to prevent hoarding of resources? The concern would be that the longer we have hoarding the more inflation will occur making it harder to balance the economy for new players, poor players, and rich players.

    Q3: As a PVP incentive, can you consider making collected body parts have an in-game effect on the person you’re fighting. For example, if I’m fighting Atos and I have his hand in my inventory, could that give Atos a debuff to pickpocket me, and to his melee skills? Skull would debuff mage skills, Jawbone would make a person weaker, etc…Please consider.

      I second Baron Drocis’ first question, early on one of the main draws of the game (For me) was the idea that the best items in the game came from crafters, the addition of artifacts as powerful as they are invalidates this idea.

    1) I saw Magic Movers referenced in Release 38 Patchnotes – how close is this to a reality?
    This would be a great boon when changing templates or rearranging parts of a town (and moving of course!). It would be wonderful if a POT owner could move lots around and have things stay intact in the lot!

    2) POT Roads (and other tools) – When? And will all paver types be supported?
    I have over 200 Bone White Pavers in my POT as roads but ran out of placements at the 240 mark and would like to continue this theme. In the short term allowing a simple crafting recipe for pavers that makes them into 2/3/4/6 long lengths would be wonderful to conserve decoration count and expand towns.

    QUESTION: The beginner experience for those new to SOTA is STILL not really up to standard. Is there going to be a lot more effort to make the experience from a new player perspective feel fun? (ie quests more interesting and not having them enter overwhelming zones too soon in the experience, not having to ‘grind’ to go through early quests.

      * Bagpipes sound more like pipe organ (great for Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor, but not so great for Celtic marching tunes at the front of the battle!
      * The “improved” lute (remember the old one?) sounds exactly like a cheesy harpsicord (great for Bach’s Goldberg Variations or Well-Tempered Clavier but absolutely ridiculous for John Dowland).

    Question: Will recipe discovery be easier in the future? For example, I already know how to make an iron longsword, but I want to make a bronze longsword, why do I need to buy an additional recipe when all I need to do is use bronze ingots instead of iron…

    Question: Will gathering get any boost potion for larger quantities of gathered resources? Similar to what combat is getting now…

    Question: Will SPO players ever get any boost to exp gains, like the OPO group players do? After all we SPO players prefer SPO, but it seems it will take us forever to gain our skills…

    Question: what are your plans for producer XP? Currently you only get decent XP from gathering which is mostly mining. Crafting gives you very little XP (E.g. mining ore for a dagger gives you ~ 2000 XP depending on nodes, refining ~ 40 XP, crafting ~ 60 XP). Crafting XP should be greatly increased.

    Question: when (if ever) will you add new resources like coal or wax. I would still like to have them on vendors (e.g. pecan nuts) as a player market does not yet exist. In fact I would like to see ALL resources on merchants – these lazy native Brittanians are supposed to work too (prizes could be higher than on vendors, but at least there should be some kind of economy).

    Question: how do you plan to include casual (new) gamers? My family did stop playing because of the high grinding costs. There is no way to play just a little bit (and have fun). I think lots of new players get discouraged within the 1st hour. My family would play again if they could start at a higher level (maybe 30-40 and maybe accept a slower XP gain to compensate)

    Question: Is there any possibility of leaving the windows on our homes open instead of having to re-open them everyone time we zone out or re-log?

    Question: Any possibility of being able to collect more than 1 bucket of water at a time? i.e. have a window open so that we can type in the number of buckets – maybe up to a maximum of 10 or better.

    Question: Can we have some kind of chat log that will allow us to leave messages for players that are offline?

    q1: I want to know why you allow for a paladin style of play plate/healing school but you don’t allow for a death knight style of play plate/death school because the fizzle is so high, it was somewhat feasible before the 2 hand fizzle change.

    q2: if you get around to doing another pass on death magic can you add abilities to drain the the life from are minion and heal are self.

    Q1: Can we get a potion (or consumables) ability bar, maybe 3-5 slots, smaller then normal quickbar. There are a lot of consumables (now), but I do not and i’m sure many do not use them since they take a quickbar slot. More consumables being used is better for the economy (both used resources and potential sales/trades).

    Q2: Any chance the instanced dungeons (pretty much any solo/party scene/encounter) can be synced to character level? This way they always stay relevant and never obsolete, other wise it’s just like other MMO’s where you out level the content, essentially making it useless (and waste of Dev resources), effectively removes content.

    Q3: Condensed recipe log option, maybe a list of recipes (still by category/sub category) on the left page and the selected recipe on the right page.

      Q1 Update: or the ability to use potions out of a bag “during” combat. Wouldn’t be ideal like the consumable hot bar idea, but at least be able to use potions as needed.

    Will you please reconsider your ‘no’ answer to making sleeping in beds, sleeping bags or perhaps llater ability to carry wood etc and make a camp (future thought ;) give resting bonuses,example 4 hour resting bonus from logging off sleeping?

    Please will you include discovery and exploration quests to encourage seeing the world and continued exploration of the world and also an achievement system in game, things that keep players coming back to the game, even fishing quests, and pvp quests perhaps give criminal points as an idea?

    Preface: I own a POT that offers free full sized homes to players who don’t have homes. I do this by making the players co-owner and they decorate the homes / make it their own. This works well, but has two big issues: When the home is unclaimed for any reason the items are sent to my bank, I have access to all of their items (I’m honest, but I can understand how this makes others uncomfortable).

    Q1: With the upcoming system to rent out rooms, will we have the ability to rent out the entire home as a whole to a player for 0 gold?

    Q2: When a player has their room rented, will items be sent to their bank if the lot is unclaimed / tax runs out?

    Q3: Will players be able to decorate the rented rooms/homes as if they owned it?

    Q1: Stables are scattered all over the world. Will there be the ability to secure your mount at the stables, perhaps to an interactive hitching post? These hitching posts would allow the player to store their mount by hitching it where it would remain (visibly hitched to the post in the world) until the players return. These posts could also be sold or crafted to players and placed outside of a home to allow players to leave their mounts outside of their homes. One mount per post to ensure many are crafted and sold. An “ornate” version in the crown store would be a nice addition also.

    Q2: Can we have small versions of potted plants either craftable or for purchase in the store? Potted plants small enough to place on shelves, banisters. railings etcetera. Banzai plants would be a great addition to go along with cities and towns with an asian theme!

    Q3: Will harvestable trees be expanded to multiple tree types instead of the single harvestable type at the moment? Various tree species that look like each of the craftable wood species are already in place in the world. It would be nice to have to search for harvestable species of trees rather than just looking for the brown top of the one harvestable tree in game.

    A couple easy ones questions/feature requests.

    1. Droppable gold into piles coming before retail launch?

    2. I would request loging out in your house you avoid the timer countdown to zone your character out. There should be some benifit to loggin out/in in your house.

    3a. The global cool down toggle between combat and noncombat bars should be shortened. After killing a mob I have to w8 many seconds to toggle over imop the system takes to long to reconize im out of combat.
    3b. Please add a additional mini bar (slot) toggable on/off for my potions. 10 slot bar no longer works in combat.

    Q1: When will we know that Focus changes (Usage and regeneration) are pretty well set. Need to know this since recent changes for me have meant spending most of my battle in Auto Attack. I also need to decide where to put Experience points and what level MOBS I will need to fall back to.

    Q2: When will we know changes to Fizzle Chance will be set? Since I can no longer reliably cast many Fire or Air Spells due to use of Melee Armor. Will Water and Earth Spells also be changed to add higher Fizzle Rates. Again I need to know what skills to pick and which skills to now get rid of after having spent millions of EXP on them.

    I am presently just building my Adventure Experience pool as best I can at a much slower pace, but have no idea what skills to put these in until these issues are decided. I do not want to waste any more Experience Points on things that will change in the near future.

    Q1 : Archers and Mages are deadly. Shield skills, resistances, parry and other defensive skills do not seem to be functioning well. What skills or set of skills will help melee characters compete?

    Q2 : Duration on buffs do not scale well. GM parry is 35 seconds; fortify defenses last 30 seconds and many others are sub 60 seconds. Shouldn’t buffs scale to last at least a minute? Two or three minutes would be much more rewarding.

    Q3 : What types of attacks does avoidance actually avoid? Many attacks seem to ignore the avoidance %.

    Q: why cant you target a stealth blurred person and attack them, shooting or swinging in the blurred area should hit them?

    1.) Does the Blade Speed innate skill affect either glyph deal speed or glyph cooldown or just how fast you can swing the sword with auto attack on?
    2.) For diversity, any chance of altering the stats of white iron and constantan from being a set amount of stat increase to being a %-based like bronze and meteoric? Nobody seems to wear this because the apparent bonus don’t scale as you level (15 health is nice at low levels but tiny at high levels).
    3.) Pole arms and bludgeons still seem drastically underwhelming when compared to blades… for diversity, can the balance of these three schools be revisted?

    Q1: Do you have an ETA on outside of game access to stats? Right now keeping track of what
    we have for sale and what was sold is not possible. It would also be nice to be able to
    build a app/website to track what is for sale and what has been sold (so we can know if

    Q2: Do you have an ETA on the scripting in game (I believe that Lua as the language was
    mentioned in one of the hangouts/telethons)? Also do you know yet what version of Lua
    would be used? This would make it possible to tie work done in Q1 above to in game
    interface (so for example I could set up a web site with a JSON interface to get
    the location (level and XYZ) of the vendor selling an item and maybe feed that as
    a POI to the compass (I can dream, can’t I ;-) ).

    Q3: At this time it appears that the inventory of a NPC vendor is the same for all vendors
    of a type. Is this going to change (so rare items might be found on only a few vendors)
    and if so do you have an ETA?

    2.) When will we be getting an attack spell(s) in the Moon tree like Atos said back in September? Perhaps a low level one that takes no reagents and a higher level much stronger one akin to chain lighting in terms to tier and power?

    3.) Are there any plans to let us move around the chandeliers that come stock with our homes? That is to say, where they are place on the ceiling stand, can we move them around on the ceiling if we want to have them hanging and shedding light somewhere else?

    2. With KRUL unfortunately not going PvP and going PvE, I know The Fall is supposed to be PvP. We need more incentives for PvP. Blood Bay is new but already scarce for being attended, shard falls are not well attended either. What is the plan to drive the people who want to PvP or the people who don’t to attempt risk PvP with some new incentives?

    3. Can we please get higher level areas for my group of (100+ adv levels) to group up and play together for something fun, challenging, rewarding? Hopefully with decent experience, rare or artifact like loot. Think the harrower and champion spawns in UO.

    4. Warding armor needs a tweak; just saying. :-)

    Many times, I am very busy within the game and unfortunately miss when someone send me a “Whisper”, would it be difficult to associate a tone/ring when receiving these? I do have a tab just for “Whispers” but by the time I look it sometimes I miss the person sending to me.

    Adventuring is something I enjoy doing a lot. I enjoy seeing what the World Builders created and wanted to know if we could introduce resource nodes in areas outside of hunting zones. Being able to collect and gather inside NPC/POT towns (away from the central arena) is an example.

    Due East in the Lands of Elysium is the only mine of that is enriched with Gold, currently Gold Ore/Ingots don’t have use in Blacksmithing Armor (as an example). Could we get Gold Sheets to create Plated Armor/Weapons/Shields/Etc.…?

    Q 1 – What are the changes from the old initial promises, to what you plan into implement now, in regards to Guild Wars, Keep building/Castle building, siege equipment and the like? ( Regarding the 2 Mil kickstarter promise ) – Any elaboration on Guild wars would be appreciated as well.

    Q 2- What are the current plans regarding Virtue in PVP, and will it create a faction vs faction based system? Or are you relying on player generated content? ( Example – If im *bad* will i see other bad guys differently then just red pvp? Will I see *good* guys as a different color? Will Good Vs Bad have any mechanics in play to actually support to make the virtues pit against each other in PvP zones?

    Q 3 – Are you planning on adding treasure maps with a skill required to say, read the maps? With treasure randomly generated with a mob spawn associated to said level? ( essentially bringing back treasure hunting somewhat simular to UO ?)

    Q 4 – Are there plans to add more node types, and essentially a wider variety of gear? And in doing so will Survey skill actually be relevent in harvesting these nodes? (see forums elaborated on multiple ore types for further explanation)

    Q1: To help with player created quests can we please have a special container that allows a player to remove only a single item? (Or alternatively add that as an option to all container permissions.)

    Q2: We can already buy ghost animal pets – can we please buy ghost humans?

    Q3: Can you please create an outlaw designation that forces the outlaw to accept all duel requests? People could become outlaws if they habitually steal from non-enemy NPCs, for example. There should be some way of identifying an outlaw.

    With the recent focus regeneration… um… adjustment, we now spend a lot more time in non-combat mode to recover focus. So, my questions relate to making that experience better.

    1. Currently, if we’re attacked while not in combat mode then we are forced into combat mode but without a weapon drawn. Can you please make it so that when we are forced into combat mode, we also draw a weapon?

    2. When we switch from combat mode to non-combat mode, there is a delay if we recently performed some combat related action. Once it actually switches to non-combat mode then we must wait for our focus/health to regenerate and then, when we switch back to combat mode, we must wait for skills to “cool down”. Can you please shorten the cool-down when entering combat mode?

    Q1: What are your thoughts on combat skill ranging from levels 1-to-30(ish) being practically useless? Why can’t “level 1” start at a more significant potency to make unlocking skills more satisfactory?

    Q2: When can we start Pickpocketing NPCs? Taking items off the shelves isn’t satisfying. Can we assassinate NPCs? Seems like towns don’t offer enough game-play to make it worth sticking around.

    Q3: Any thoughts on making the various Arenas (like the one in Ardoris and OwlsHead) more accessible by making their presence more obvious to the general public? Adding some sort of Colosseum-type structure in the world map and making the town crier announce when people are battling. Allowing people to participate in PvP without risking their inventory or item’s durability?

    1. Player-owned vendors have very constraining limits on the number of items that can be listed. I think everyone would like to list 1000s of items not just ~100 or so that are available now. This applied to both “Buy” and “Sell” listings.
    2. Commodities are generally well represented in the purchase order listing on player-owned vendors. However, I would like to place orders on food items, rare items (pledge items, drops, etc), and new items as they become available in the add-on store.
    3. When shopping on a vendor, it would be great to be able to filter by crafting system (black smithing, carpentry, etc), so that we only see items related to a specific crafting tree.
    4. It would be great, if the owner of a vendor, could introduce messages that our vendors could say like the NPC vendors. It would help us to communicate the purpose of the vendor and advertise it’s offerings in an unobtrusive way. If we had three messages that could show up in miscellaneous messaging like NPC vendors, that could help potential customers and vendors quite a bit.

    1. Any thoughts on a vertical utility bar for food, potions, pets and scrolls? I have an idea for a customizable utility bar, say 4-6 slots. Perhaps it could be located under the skill monitoring section by default.

    2. I’d like to have the option of a ‘pause and request’ behavior for public vendors, player vendors and bankers. Double click the banker and it brings you to the same banker interface except it pauses the inventory load, and brings you to a splash screen that says ‘click on a tab to view your inventory’ – this might be more efficient. You’d be able to claim rewards without having to deal with the initial ‘all items’ load. This would also help in PvP because you could get to the initial vendor interface without being lagged out.

    3. Could we get an option to turn off the item description windows that pop up when you’re managing your inventory? Perhaps a way to toggle it on and off similar to toggling deco mode. For example – if I’m just moving a bunch of junk items (shoddy longbows, rusty swords, etc) into a salvage chest I don’t need to see how those weapons compare to my current equipment.

      I really want to see this happen. Make it a toggle so that you dont get the popup unless you want to see it.

        Better yet, make it so that the comparison window only pops up when you right mouse click on it.
        That would solve alot of problems without opening a new can of interface worms.

    The world lacks conflict and guilds hardly interact with each other through ingame means besides dance parties. Guild Wars are an unused feature currently…

    Will there be more sandbox content for guild politics like mentioned in the Kickstarter goal? e.g.: castles and territory to own and govern conquered by ingame means.

    Will there be more conflict in Virtue vs Anti Virtue battles, and consequences for your alignment throughout Novia?

    Will PVP and PVE stay intertwined sandbox style with consent (ala SWG for example) or do you plan to separate them from each other at some point?

    1. Right now on the Steam store page in the “Development Roadmap” the beta is listed as being feature and content complete in Q1 2017 and the launch is listed as happening in “mid 2017”. Richard Garriott in his recent polygon interview said “mid 2017” for launch as well. Is this accurate and if not then what is the current best estimate timeline expected for being feature and content complete?

    2. Related to the first question. I realize polish and tweaking will be ongoing but is there any new game mechanics or systems that will be getting put in place that are not currently in game in one form or another? With the game 80% complete and in the ‘last 20% polish and finishing stage’, is there any chance of any core systems still being changed or major new mechanics being added or is it all a matter of just tweaking and polish from this point on?

    3. Can you please clarify your position on what you consider to be the different stages of development. There are a ton of references still to the game being “pre-Alpha”, while also apparently coming up to beta and launch very soon here, so could you please talk a little bit about what you consider to be pre-alpha, alpha, close beta, open beta etc. and what stage you feel the game is actually at right now?

    Why are we not able to downgrade our Player Owned Towns to a smaller size? Being able to do so will help us town owners afford necessary lots to build our town in an absence of other players and their lots. Please reconsider!
