Release 63 Instructions

Please read this entire message, as well as the linked Player Guide and Known Issues.

Release 63 of Shroud of the Avatar goes live this Thursday, February 28, at 10:30 AM US Central Time (15:30 UTC).

Release 63 is the second release in which we focused on the current iteration of our Top 10 Priorities (from Q1 2019 Schedule Update). We made progress on almost every single priority including Quality of Life (Automatic Reward Claiming, Reduced Item Prices, POT Deco Limits Increased, Lot Deed Upgrading with Crowns), User Interface Polish (In-Game Crown Shop Improvements), Seasonal Content (Envy Angel), Systems Polish (Pronged Weapons), bug fixes, more Player-Made Dungeon pieces, and the first work on spawning in Player-Made Dungeons!

Envy Angel: Our latest seasonal boss monster missed Valentine’s Day—or Sequanna’s Day, as it is known in Novia—and she’s not happy about it. Well, The Envy Angel is never quite happy about anything really, except perhaps attention from her admirers. Rumor has it that her bow is a powerful artifact. Anyone who wants more information about her should find Hyun the courier in the Necropolis Barrens. Kinga and Ronin, in Brittany Castle, say he was supposed to be delivering love letters but was waylaid as he tried to take a shortcut through the Envy Angel’s home! Community Livestream – Envy Angel (Mar 1)

Another content packed weekly Community Livestream is this Friday March 1 at 4 PM CT on Twitch!

This week we are going to show off The Envy Angel! Our latest seasonal boss monster missed Valentine’s Day—or Sequanna’s Day, as it is known in Novia—and she’s not happy about it.   • $105K: Darkstarr Trident and Darkstarr 2h Axe
  • $125K: Darkstarr Black Leather Armor

Release 63 on QA, Goes Live Next Thur

An early version of R63 is on the QA server. R63 is full of new content and fixes, some of which is now on the QA server for early testing. An early version of the R63 Instructions are also available for review. We could really use everyone’s help to test all of this amazing content before it goes live next Thursday February 28!

Community Livestream – Player-Made Dungeon Spawning (Feb 22)

This week we are going to show off how creature spawning is going to work in Player-Made Dungeons (the first version of which goes live in Release 63 next week)! We will also show the new Prison-themed dungeon pieces going live in Release 63.

Crown Store Buff & New Decorations for Release 63

Back in October of last year Travis “Vas Corp Por” Koleski started a thread in the forums entitled “Deco Wishlist that is already in-game”.  The purpose of the thread is “…for world decorations that are already in the game that are not yet player-facing decos that people would like to have.” The thread has been steadily filling up with player requests and we are happy to say that the first round will be ready for Release 63 and will be available in the Crown Store!

Speaking of the Crown Store, to encourage players to find the Crown Store button we have added a buff! Players will get a small one-day long buff with any purchase from the Crown Store. The buff strength is the same whether you spend 1 crown or 1000. You can have up to three buffs at once and there are currently 22 variations. These buffs will remain in place for at least two months / Releases but possibly longer to help players with the transition to an in-game store.

Community Livestream – Fresh Water Fishing Contest (Feb 15)

Another content packed weekly Community Livestream is this Friday February 15 at 4 PM CT on Twitch!

This week we are going to have another Fishing contest! This time it will be a Fresh Water contest in Celestis!

To participate in the contest go to Celestis and start fishing at 4:15 PM. The best trophy fish (longest) caught by 5 PM will win a prize! NOTE: We will be verifying location and time!
